share a childhood memory.
“My mother used to spend every evening after her shop closed making healing salves and poultices from the herbs we’d gather on the edge of the woods. It got to the point where I couldn’t tell the difference between smelling stew cooking over the fire and yarrowroot infusing into coagulant ointment. She’d send me out to pick herbs and I’d come home to a house filled with steam and smelling like medicine just about every night.”
is there something you would die to protect?
“Not to sound like a bard who only knows one song, but: of course I’d die to protect the forest I grew up in. Whether it’s fighting off destruction in there, or dying out here looking for answers, that’s… honestly been the plan for as long as I can remember.”
talk about the most dangerous experience you’ve ever had.
“Have you ever taken on a hill giant single-handed? And I mean literally single-handed, because I had a dislocated shoulder at the time. If Andesite hadn’t been there I would’ve been dead.”
talk about a time you indulged your curiosity.
“I went looking for my father, once. I was young; fourteen or fifteen? All I knew about him was that he was a wood elf, and that he’d left before I was born, but I’d gotten it into my head that he was out there in the woods somewhere, waiting for me to be old enough to come find him. I didn’t– the elves keep to themselves and I gave up once I realized that I had no idea how to even begin looking. But even once I made my home in the forest years later, I still never found him.”
