Sassa had no idea if she was reading too far into the text she had gotten from Kian that morning. Mostly a warning. Teeth working over her lower lip, she re-read it several times, gauging how to respond. How he might want her to respond. She had finished up her run about ten minutes after he had sent the text, phone lightly pinched between two fingers of her right hand as she tapped it against her left, her pace towards the locker rooms glacial as she debated between the options she had here. Without ever consciously deciding to, her feet carried her towards the locker room, towards the shower, where she knew Kian was.

“Thanks for the heads up,” she said in a melodic voice, leaning a shoulder against the door into the showers, her other arm holding her towel that was wrapped around her chest. “If it was mostly meant as a warning, what else was it meant as?”
