TSUCHINOKO REAL
me: i move back to America in like three days and already had to ship like two boxes of stuff...i can’t buy any more unnecessary junk, it’ll just take up space in my luggage... me three days later, spotting a Snorlax backpack in the clearance rack at the mall:
one of my students drew me a thank you letter with Pikachu and Kino from Kino’s Journey on it (a reference to how often we talked about Kino’s Journey together...she would bring me the light novels and i would read excerpts aloud in my broken Japanese lmao) but when she gave it to me and i excitedly made to open it she suddenly started shouting “NO!!!! NO...DON’T OPEN IT IN FRONT OF ME.....I’M EMBARRASSED!!!!” and if that isn’t the ULTIMATE #relatable anxious artist feel.........
we were playing a “guess the silhouette” game in one of my classes but the students all collectively forgot the English word for “train” somehow so they just started shouting with increasing desperation “IT’S THOMAS”
today was my last day teaching at the elementary school and, surprising no one, i wept openly after my goodbye speech (the students gave me gifts and thank you messages in English; one of them was crying just a little, which started me bawling..you are like a little baby with those tears still in your eyes WATCH THIS)........and then had to go and help teach four classes right afterward like normal sdjfkdls;kf...........naturally i cried intermittently throughout the day
found this SUPER COOL lizard in my backyard...i think it’s called a Japanese five-lined skink
