He’d been sitting on the edge of a planter enjoying his meal bar for the  afternoon when he noticed the cutest damn kid bouncing by, all bright eyes and excitement.  A smile spread across Lantar’s face as he watched him for a minute.  There didn’t seem to be any adults watching or following him though so Lantar pushed off his seat and headed over.

"Hey, do you need help?"  The kid looked like he hadn’t been to the Citadel before but hopefully he’d recognize a C-sec uniform.

Desolas stopped in his tracks as he heard the voice, looking up at the man in blue armour first with confusion, then enthusiasm. A C-Sec officer! He'd seen them in vids before, and Dad had said that he could talk to those should he get lost.

"I'm okay. Are you from C-Sec?" He bounced a little, walking up the the officer.

"Nah, I’m just gonna make you sit there.  Y’know.  You’re the baby, so you get to sit."

"That's weird. Why do I have to sit? Are you really gonna make me sit all day?" He blinked up at this 'babysitter', giving him his best puppy dog eyes. He couldn't possibly sit still until mommy and daddy came back!

What a cutie

Desolas hummed softly as he wandered across the Citadel commons, steps bouncing a little. If Mommy wanted to talk to her friend she could, but he wouldn't miss this chance at exploring. They wouldn't come back that soon after all! Li, his trusty stuffed puppy, was sitting securely in his collar, ready to take in the view as well.

Eyes locked on yet another word puzzle giving him trouble on his datapad, Mavic hadn’t seen the kid either until they’d crashed into each other. “Shit- er crap,” He said, holding out one of his hands to the kid. “I didn’t see you either. You okay?”

Desolas quickly nodded, hopping back up on his legs. After a moment of hesitation, he patted the dust off his pants and Li, then looked up at the man and squinted.

"Yeah. But you said a bad word."

For a moment, Desolas stared at the turian in front of him, tilting his head curiously. Why did mommy think this was a good idea again? Mommy and Daddy need some alone time? After a moment, he just stuck out his tongue at the man, making a fart noise.

"What’s this babysitting thing? Are you gonna sit on me?"

With a soft, nervous trill in the back of his throat, Desolas made his way down the long hallway, trying to ignore the adults surrounding him. How stupid to lose mom and dad! Where were they? He’d tried calling for them long enough to know they weren’t here anymore, but where had they gone? 

Clutching the stuffed puppy in his arms, his eyes kept on flicking about as he walked - perhaps a little too distracted as he ran headfirst into one of the turian, little legs stumbling for a moment before he fell. A small squeak came from his throat as he looked up at the adult, clutching Li a bit closer to his chest. 

"S-sorry sir, I didn’t see you——"
