Fun fact: Thunderstorms Superhero
When I was living in Colorado as a kid, I loved thunderstorms so much I thought up a super hero, Thunder X, they got his power from thunderstorms. I even drew comics with him using supersonic sound waves to blast down doors to save a woman who was in trouble.
Not only did I draw these comics, but I sent them off to the Disney Adventures when they ran a contest looking for new comics ideas. I guess you could say the silent response from Disney was my first rejection.
Anyway, as I sit here and watch the lightning and listen to the rumbling thunder in the distance, and the hear the steadier sound of hail hitting the rooftop, I can’t help but think back to those days on the playground, thinking up stories and wishing I had supersonic powers of my own to level the field against elementary school bullies.
How things change, and stay the same. I had no idea then that I would have dreams of one day being an author, and today when I long for those supersonic powers it isn’t too use against people but so I could get to work faster. :D
Do any of your childhood dreams come back to you from time to time? What ones?
