#DressingUpTheStars — Fancy donkeys! • Final illustration in progress. If you compare it with my last post, you’ll see the difference between art test and final art. • When I make an art test I use the same paints and art materials that I’ll use for the final illustrations, but I don’t think about shape or worry about composition. I simply focus on getting the “feeling” right. It lets me know I’m in the right path. • Art tests also allows the team I work with (editor, art director, writer, etc) to get an idea of how the book will look. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I draw birds pretty much every time I can. 😅 I love birds. In fact, I like them so much that I used to have a flock of golondrinas (swallows) hanging from the ceiling of my old studio. Aren’t they gorgeous?
