Had it really only been a few days? It felt like ages. He was cold, he was tired, he was hurt, and Leonardo was so much worse off. His arms... that was something that Raphael didn’t know what to do about in the slightest. It had taken long enough to get them out of the base, and with little time to get to safety before dawn, he just.. went to the first place he could find.
Turns out that it wasn’t far from a very delightful smelling safehouse, and it wasn’t like a locked door was going to stop him. He does lock it behind him again, though.
“C’mon. It’s fine, nobody’s here yet.” Raph keeps his hold around Leo’s shell, one shoulder tucked under Leo’s arm to keep his weight and help him along. He doesn’t know where anyone is. The lights are off, which is a good thing, and he didn’t actually read the sign so he doesn’t know what time the bakery actually opens, but it’s safe enough.
He’s never been more grateful for a chair, though.
Raphael guides his brother over to the stool behind the counter and makes sure he’s awake enough to stay sitting up, and then goes searching through the darkness for the first aid kit. They have to have one around here, right? They play with ovens all the time, there’s gotta be bandages around here somewhere.
