Hi, pet. I wasn’t sure if I should start doing this --unreliable post breeds disappointment, mum always said-- but Duncan was adamant. He misses you terribly already, you know.
But he woke up this morning all smiles, ate what I put in front of him and promptly fell back asleep. His breathing patterns are a touch more even than yesterday, but his fever spiked around noon.
Hurry back, won’t you? I have all the faith in the world in you and so does he. You should’ve seen the look on his face when I told him I’d be writing you tonight. If he starts showing interest in his coloring books again, I’ll send you what he does.
I should try to find a camera, too. A picture’s worth a thousand words.
I’m so proud of you, Mac, so very proud that you’d care enough to do this. We hope to see you home safe and sound very soon.
