clementines are symbols of compassion and mercy! they are also symbols for growth and sometimes for secrets. it is customary to put clementines/chocolate clementines in the bottom of stockings in some cultures at christmas because they are symbols of generosity and wealth/abundance as well.
katherine is a symbol of hope, in my mind. they are someone who will always choose to be compassionate, to be merciful, even when the other person doesn't "deserve it"/was cruel {like when they tried to heal Him, as an example}. kik grows and adapts and changes and remains kind and generous because their true power is their humanity, their warmth. {that'll make more sense later ;)}
fun fact: Kik's favorite treat are chocolate covered clementines :)
