My First Bullet Journal \ kikki K Large Planner
If you’re here from my YouTube video, welcome! If you have not seen my video you can watch it here.
First things first, you will notice I’m using a binder system instead of the traditional notebook. The only reason for that is that I purchased this amazingly cute Vänskap large kikki K large planner and I had to find a use for it. I toyed with the idea of putting my Erin Condren in it, but when I tested the look I wasn’t convinced. Starting a bullet journal was way more appealing.
This size binder has been compared to an A5 and those are the inserts you see in them as well. The exact measurements can be found on my video or on the kikki-K website, both linked just above. I have to mention that the inserts are a bit wider than the original kikki K inserts but not as wide as an Erin Condren.
I bought these inserts from Amazon (you can check them out here) because the price seemed fair and I wanted to give them a try. I will say that the thickness of the paper is great but the texture is definitely not for pens/markers that smudge easily.
If you have the time and energy, I would highly suggest cutting your own paper, that way you get exactly the one you want. While tempted to do that I decided I wasn’t going to dive into that world just yet.
As far as writing, I have been loving my Staedtler Triplus Fineliners. I bought a 36 set from Amazon (find them here) and I have not put them down since. I love everything about them. In addition to my Staedtlers, I use my Le Pen set (find those here), the black Paper Mate Flair (link right here) and my favorite mechanical pencils.
If you follow me on Instagram (@DeePlannerGirl) then you might have seen I use the occasional stickers. I often plan to use them, but when the spread is coming together I find its simplicity more beautiful and use very few stickers if any at all.
And that, my friends, is how I am loving my first bullet journal. I do want to to try a notebook after my inserts are done so I have some research to do...that means lots of YouTube watching.
Hopefully this post has inspired you or encouraged you to try some new materials. The video is much more detailed so definitely go watch it while you have your morning coffee, that’s when I enjoy watching videos.
Thank you for all your support and until next time!
Happy Planning,
DeePlannerGirl
