Kilgharrah is a Villain and we should say it louder
Merlin being like, 'you pinkyswear you won't destroy Camelot if I free you?'
this is the show, right?
My lizard has decided she has beef with Kilgharrah
It's kinda ironic considering her name is Penny Pendragon the Bearded Dragon
[morcest version]
I just saw a picture of Kilgharrah pop up on my dash, and I was jump scared by his four legs and wings because most pop-culture dragons we get are more birdlike than traditional dragon.
Smaug is technically a wyvern. GoT dragons are wyverns. I cannot think of a dragon a recent popcultur etaht's actually a dragon.
So props to Kilgharrah for being just that
Chapter 14: A debt repayed
I am a man of my word. -Arthur
The five women walked slower than usual. Although Lyra hated being a burden, she did appreciate their consideration. She definitely couldn't have kept up the pace she usually stode in.
What she appreciated the most however was how her knights did not utter a word about what happened. They kept their conversations light until Ava teased: "Sooooo Thea. Tell us about your little friend."
Lyras attention shifted to Dorothea, who instantly blushed at the attention as well as the implication of Avas question.
"I do not know what you mean." She simply said, looking ahead.
Anna scoffed: "Oh please. Do not act like you and that knights were not eyeing eachother the whole feast yesterday."
Lyras eyebrows shot up and she asked: "How come I have not heard about this?"
Cecillia laughed and answered: "That would be because you were to busy eyeing the Prince."
"Hey, do not make this about me. We were talking about Thea. Also I am not eyeing that idiot. I will enjoy seeing him apologize." Lyra stated.
"You mean you will enjoy seeing him on his knees?" Anna teased, which make the other knights burst into laughter.
"Now back to you, young lady. Do not think we have forgotten you. Tell us everything." Ava then brought them back to their original target much to her dismay.
"There is not much to tell. I was carrying a basket full of potatoes to the kitchen when Sir Leon bumped into me and they fell. He helped me pick them up and apologized. Then he insisted on carrying them for me and we talked." Dorothea said in a more hushed voice.
"Sooo you like him?" Lyra said through her grin.
"I do not know yet. But he is quite charming." She finally admitted. The other four squealed a little and Cecillia said: "Well do keep us updated."
Thea just laughed at that and shook her head.
"Now back to you." Ava adressed the Princess.
"What is this I hear about this Merlin boy? You two seem scandalously close." Anna continued for her.
Her other knights looked at Lyra expectantly. They had heard rumors as well as seen them together so they were curious to say the least.
„Merlin and I are friends. We found that we had a few things in common and he is quite good company." Lyra gave a diplomatic answer.
Ava was about to ask more questions when the group finally made it to the training field. Ava pointed at the Princess and mouthed a quick ,We are not done', which earned her a chuckle for the other women.
The knights of Camelot were all training while the Prince stood by the sidelines and gave them instructions.
Once the women were close enough Lyra spoke up: „Are your knights ready to apologize, Prince Arthur?"
The practice halted and the Prince turned to face Lyra and her knights. He did not look too pleased but gave a stiff nod.
One after the other the Knights of Camelot apologized to every one of the women separately. Still you could tell which ones actually meant it and which ones were just following orders.
Lyra had to admit, it felt good to be recognized as a threat and not as a lady waiting to be in distress. And by the look on her knights faces, she knew they felt the same.
Lyra also make a mental note about how a tall knight with strawberry blonde long hair held Theas hand just a bit too long after kissing it and apologizing. She concluded that that must be Sir Leon.
Once all the knights of Camelot made their round Lyra looked at Arthur. Waiting.
They are staring at eachother again. The same way they had the first evening she arrived. Like it was a competition on who would give up first.
But Lyras patience was running thin and her side was starting to hurt once more so she said: „Do I have to remind you of the bet we agreed on, Prince Arthur? I am quite sure it was rather clear that you were included, am I right?"
He just huffed and then went down the line. Apologizing shortly and without much emotion or meaning.
Then it was Lyras turn and he said: „I apologize for offending you and your knights. It was a good fight."
The word knights came out sarcastically but he had said it and that was all the Princess cared about.
„Very well then. Your apology has been accepted. Now I am positive that my knights would like to train." She put the emphasis on knights just like he had.
Slowly the men started packing up and leaving, which left Lyra a bit confused.
„Is there a reason everyone is leaving? Are you done already?" She asked the Prince with a raised brow.
„You will have the space entirely to yourself, as per our agreement. I am a man of my word." Arthur bluntly stated with his arms crossed.
„Actually we would like to train alongside them. It has been a while since I have fought new people, sire." Ava budded in to support Lyra.
„I shall tell them, though I will not force them to stay if they do not want to." Arthur nodded halfheartedly. And off he went.
To Lyras surprise quite a few of the men did decide to stay behind. She could only hope it was for the right reasons.
Her knights mingled with Camelots and they started sparring shortly after.
When Lyra thought no one was looking, she put her hand on her wound and inhaled sharply.
„Are you sure, you are okay?" No other than the Prince himself asked.
Lyra spun around, surprised that he was there. When had he approached? She assumed he wouldn't want to be anywhere around her after the hit to his ego.
„I am alright." She gave the curt reply.
„But you are not. You keep most of your weight on your left foot and make sure you do not move your right arm. And most obvious of all, you are not sparring." Arthur stated matter-of-factly. And it annoyed Lyra to no end that he was right.
She shifted her weight onto her right leg, but she did it too quickly, which resulted in an involuntary yelp from her.
She looked up at the Prince, feeling betrayed by her own body.
„Fine, I'm hurt. So what?" She said with more attitude than she intended.
„This is why I did not want to fight you."Arthur stated
„What because I'm fragile?" Lyra scoffed.
Their eyes met and Arthur seriously said: „Because you could have gotten hurt and you did. How deep is it? Have you seen Gaius already?"
Taken aback by Arthurs genuine concern, Lyra stumbled out a „I have."
Arthur furrowed his brows and repeated himself. „How deep is it?"
„Why do you care?" Lyra asked, not wanting to answer his question.
In a fit of frustration Arthur blurted out: „You know what. I do not." and stormed off, leaving a very confused Princess.
She never seemed to understand the Princes moods, so she brushed it off and turned back to watch her knights. To say that they were beating the men would be an understatement.
Dorothea also seemed to have paired up with the strawberry blonde knight from before. Lyra was too far away to hear what they were saying, but they seemed to be engaged in a playful conversation while fighting with their swords.
„I must say, you have really fast reflexes, Lady Dorothea. Colour me impressed." Sir Leon grinned, as he blocked one of her attacks.
„Flattery will not help you, Sir Leon. I shall beat you anyway." Dorothea replied playfully. She hadn't had this much fun in forever. He had a way of making her feel at ease.
„That is not my intention at all." He said, as he went to swipe the sword out of her hand. She avoided his maneuver flawlessly however and asked: „What are your intentions then?"
„A date perhaps?" He asked boldly, although you could tell he felt a little nervous.
Dorothea stilled for a second, which was enough for Sir Leon to disarm her. They were standing face to face now.
„Are you free this evening?" He asked in a lower voice while maintaining eye contact.
„I guess I could find the time." Thea replied after some time.
He grinned and offered her her sword back. „I shall meet you here then."
She took the sword and before she could ask anymore questions he was already on his way back to the castle. Oh lord she would have a lot of talking to do once the girls gathered again.
