Kill The Darkness and Become It
And you killed that Darkness, didn't you? You swam the open ocean,
and drank from the Dead Sea. You climbed the mountain that has killed
lovers in their embraces. You walked in the footsteps of Christ,
but you became nothing like him.
You fashioned wings and wore them like your brother. You flew
And spoke to Apollo. Yet still, there was only the dark.
You spoke to God on his deathbed, looking for answers.
‘It is my plan’, his only response.
You cast the darkness from the sky. You became the hero.
What no one ever tells the hero is this:
You become that which you kill.
