Enjoyable but disappointing killer-ant science fiction horror/fantasy from the brilliant Saul Bass (more famous for his animations and title sequence designs - particularly Psycho and Vertigo).
Some very stylish images, but the acting and script mean that the most interesting sections are the macro-lens work involving the insects themselves... which were actually shot by wildlife photographer Ken Middleham.
Maybe a second viewing will be less disappointing now I won’t have my hopes built up by the Director’s name.
