He sighed and started looking around in his pockets for something to help ease the pain. Not that he thought she deserved it, after all, it was her fault she was hurt. “I know you’re strong,” He said finally. “It’s just your enemies are stronger and I don’t want to see you…” Get hurt. He didn't finish his sentence, instead drifting into silence.
He shouldn’t care if she got hurt, he shouldn’t be worried about her like this. His emotions were a mess inside of him. He felt angry that she had endangered her life, but felt incredible relief that she was alright. He felt like he wanted to punch her and kiss her at the same time, and those emotions drained him, making him feel incredibly exhausted. “Just forget about it.” He murmured.
There was a moment of silence before Nena finally spoke that familiar smile returning. “ I’ll be more careful next time. .promise” A tough promise to make in this day and age not to mention with her work, certainly not the safest thing she could be doing. “ thanks though. .”
