so i went on the antics tag earlier (i make myself suffer sometimes) and I saw a post that made me think (even though i don't agree). It said that in the last episode killian made some emotional blackmail to Emma when he told her that she was what was keeping him from going back towards the dark, basically saying that if she wasn't there anymore or didn't want him anymore he would go back to being a vilain (it didn't say all of that explicitily but it's what i got from it). so he's (1/2)
threatening her that if she leaves, he's lot, so it would make her feel guilty. i mean we know that emma is the main reason why he isn't a vilain anymore, and i don't think that whole scene was meant to be understood that way. i think that he has a lot more to live for now besides emma. I was wondering what you thought on that matter since you have an insanely good insight on the show and characters. (2/2)

lol honestly that’s just a wrong interpretation, straight up. look, not everyone likes killian. why is beyond me, but they have their own reasons and that’s fine.
killian is concerned with keeping emma good, because he doesn’t wish the darkness he’s so familiar with on her. he’s been on the other side and it’s horrible, and so of course he doesn’t want the woman he loves to lose herself to it.
he just wanted to remind her that she has a lot to live for---and frankly, he didn’t even mention himself, EMMA brought it up. EMMA asked him why he slipped into it before, and he was being honest. he didn’t have anything to live for. everyone he loved had been taken from him.
killian has more to live for than just emma, but it definitely is because of her. she inspired goodness in him; she inspired him to be a man he would be proud of, a man worthy of loving and being loved.
tbh, it’s not your or my problem that people continue to see killian as some kind of manipulative monster. he has always been very upfront about who he is, whether it’s good or bad, and it’s always been glaringly obvious---especially more so now.
so i’m not annoyed at you but i feel like i shouldn’t be still making these kinds of posts, defending killian to people who will never like him just because of who they are and who he is...so i urge you to just stop looking in hate tags. you’re never gonna find what you want.
