I’m thinking about Sir Billiam the third
I feel like he was a kid that pressured by his family to be perfect, to never make mistakes, to be a golden child.
So when he first encounters the egg at around 15, it promised a life where he’d be himself, not who his parent expected of him. He’d be happy, not have to worry about expectations, he’d have his dream life.
So he agrees to help the egg in order to achieve this life.
And that’s how he ends up killing his parents, abandoning his brother and stealing a good chunk of their fortune to be able to provide for himself.
He lived in his mansion alone with the egg, until he starts hiring butlers to have around the place. The egg would consume them either way, why not get some help around?
Soon, Billiam, the persona he disguises himself as, worries he’s losing the money he stole, so he starts robbing the money of rich people the egg kills and starts robbing banks from random villages, where he eventually meets his most loyal companion, when they’re both young.
The young soon to be butler was around 14 when Billiam found him, Billiam being only 16 at that point, and was a homeless orphan living in a karaoke bar with his older brother. He offered to give the young orphan a home in return for absolute loyalty and servitude.
The orphan, who was named Matthew, agreed.
And soon enough they met another ‘loyal’ companion, Hubert, who was the same age as Billiam when they all met. The three became the best of friends quickly, become like family to each other. The egg had control of Matt and Billiam, but not Hubert, but it never mattered to them.
But not every story has a happy ending.
Hubert wasn’t content with the murders that must be committed to feed the egg, and decided to run, the egg taking him out before he even had a chance to leave.
This devastated both Billiam and Matt, so they agreed no more attachments to any butlers that can come and go, and to keep their guards up in case of a traitor.
Bing bang boom, the masquerade Karl attended.
Billiam and Matt were completely used to this routine at this point. Entertain the guests, slowly kill them off, repeat. It was nothing new.
Lets just hope it wasn’t as messy.
