My uma musume oc! Design details and ramblings down below

Ok so,, first of all, this guy's racing record is completely ridiculous. Four 1st places, one 4th place, and 7 lost races. Along with his name, I think this uma would just, completely own whichever place she got. You can check out his race records here (fyi, the website is in spanish)

Also, the horse only ever ran on dirt tracks, so obviously he'd be a dirt runner, but almost all of his races were sprints (1000m) so I think he'd be a sprinter as well. After watching some of his races, I'm pretty sure he'd be a pace chaser.

As for design quirks, I wanted to use a lot of red rope motif because his reigns + shadow roll are red! I wanted to obviously use his shadow roll in the design, but didn't want to use the same as narita brian's bandaid or rice shower's on her neck, so I turned it into a headband! Also, she has long black socks up to her knees because Pride Of Place's lower legs are black!

I also posted her on the uma musume community on tumblr, so that's fun!

Hmm,, thinking about drawing cedlock designs with fancy clothes and masquerade masks. Im having ideas for designs against my will someone save me

I'm still watching elena of avalor and it's really good so far, but something I like that caught my attention is the words they invent for a few things :] like monfuego obviously being monte (mountain, duh) + fuego, or malvago being malvado (evil/maleficient) + mago (wizard/mage). Idk, it's a fun little quirk of the words that I found really charming honestly :]

Okok so this post is going to be a bit rambly but i don't care

Unhinged ramblings under the cut

So I wanted to talk about the latin american spanish version of Cedric the Great (and how it's amazing)

You can watch it here but it's not necessary to listen to understand my point (though you still should because it's pretty good)

So the lyrics are pretty similar in the beggining, nothing of note there, but in the chorus there are some very noticable changes in the lyrics that are really good

In the original english version the chorus goes: They can tell me im no good / and call me second rate / but soon they'll see I'm meant to be / king Cedric the great

But in the latam spanish ver it goes: Dicen que muy torpe soy / que nada heredé / les probaré que voy a ser / gran Cedric el rey

The main difference between the two versions is the highlighted line, in the original the line is kinda silly but still fits the song nicely, but in the spanish ver it's "and I didn't inherit anything".

Note that I am translating these lyrics directly without much regard for how they might fit into the song. Also I change the order of the adjectives (e.g. king cedric the great to great cedric the king) for this exact same reason.

The translated version of the spanish ver would be: They say I'm so clumsy / and I didn't inherit anything / I'll prove to them that I will be / great Cedric the king

I think it's very interesting because it's obviously talking about not being as great as his father (i.e. not getting anything from him), but it also work's for the family wand! I doubt it was their intention, but I don't know when the spanish dub was released in relation to the original. Calling him clumsy is kinda silly, but it has kind of a bad connotation, similar to incompetent (but not as bad).

There's also the part when the little toy guards sing that is changed in a similar way: One trick will show them all / Cedric isn't second rate / We kiss the ring of our new king / king Cedric / king Cedric the great!

And in the spanish version it goes: Un truco provará / que es el heredero ideal / le serviré al nuevo rey / gran Cedric / gran Cedric el rey!

Which translated is: one trick will prove / that he's the ideal heir / I will serve the new king / great Cedric / great Cedric the king!

The 'ideal heir' thing seemed really particular to me, because it might hint at Cordelia? I don't think so, but there isn't many other things. Again, the family wand also applies here.

At the end of the day, this is just my interpretation (and translation), so if you have any other things to add to or correct, feel free to tell me. This is just a silly post of things I found peculiar :pp
