Oops. That tumbler was a bit taller than I thought. 😂 I actually checked this height twice because I knew it was close. I had a quarter inch between the pot and the lid of the kiln. Well some days you just don’t win when you check your kiln. In all honesty it is beyond time to change the elements and relays in the paragon kiln. I picked this up used 7 years ago, it had been fired 5 times they said. I have changed the thermocouple and computer board in that time. Through knowledge of programming heating ramps I have been able to keep it running as the elements have aged. Luckily this was just a bisque fire so I managed to get a soft bisque done and since the pots will be undergoing a second bisque to set the underglaze work I’m not concerned about the work. Bad timing this week. My kiln pooped out on me but all working now. The upper half of the elements (coils) wasn’t lighting up. It was the switch that went bad (that tiny box where all the wires are attached to). Labeled all the wires and just stuck them back in their place on the new switch.
