It is very difficult to transmit true high-resolution video back from Mars; the highest data rate possible for the Curiosity rover is about 2 megabytes per second, and that data rate is only available for a few minutes per martian day when using a relay through the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft. This video, however, has used the high-resolution still frame images to give you an impression of what it would look like to walk around on Mars.

A kilobit is a thousand bits in data transfer. It's used to calculate how much data is transported per second. Kilobits per second is abbreviated as kb/s, Kbps, or kbps (as opposed to Kilobytes per second, which is abbreviated as KBps). Take notice of the capitalization.
