Juliet let out a loud ‘aww’ sound while Kimberley stepped closer to get a better look at little Miles.

Kimberley: “Oh my god, look at him! He’s so tiny. Look at his little hands!”  Juliet: “I love his eyebrows! He looks.. almost angry. What a mood.”  Neil: *laughs* “He’s a grump, alright. But only when he’s hungry or when you wake him up from a nap.”  Kimberley: “Oh god, he really is a mood.”  Rowan: *laughs*

Neil went to grab some drinks and snacks while Kimberley and Juliet settles down on the couch. Gently, Rowan placed little Miles in Kimberley’s arms. 

Kimberley: “He’s so tiny.. I can’t believe you made this.” Neil: “Yeah.. It still feels so unreal that, you know, we made a little human being.” Rowan: *nods* “Yeah, it’s such an odd but wonderful thing. It’s.. magical.” Juliet: “So Kimbi.. You know who is next right..” Kimberley: “Next for what?”

While Juliet gushed over Miles and his tiny hands, Kimberley continued her story on how great her new love interest was. Rowan couldn’t help but giggle at her excitement. She did truly make him seem like a wonderful person. Successful at his job too. Perhaps.. a few years too old for her, but Rowan didn’t question her friend’s judgement. 

Neil left Rowan and her friends after an hour or so to meet up with his friends. The rest of the afternoon, Rowan and her friends stayed in the Reagan apartment, chatting away as they enjoyed the company of baby Miles.

Rowan sprung up and almost ran to the door, as fast as her still sore body allowed. She swung open the front door and smiled when she was met with two familiar faces. 

Kimberley: “Ro! I’ve missed your silly face.” 

Kimberley opened her arms and threw them around Rowan. Rowan giggled and pulled her friend close. She then repeated the action with Juliet, who was just as eager to give Rowan a hug.

Neil emerged from the kitchen and said hi to the Shield cousins as well. 

Juliet: “How have you two been?” Rowan: *nods* “It’s been.. hectic. But it’s also very rewarding and lovely..” Neil: “Hm.. Indeed. Hectic is a good word to describe the last two weeks. But I’ve been taking care of Rowan as best I can, you’ll be happy to hear!”   Kimberley: *laughs* “You better! She did all the hard work growing and giving birth to a baby, so she deserves some rest.”  Rowan: *smiles* “No worries, he’s telling the truth. We have been taking turns getting up at night if he cries but.. So far he’s been good..”  Juliet: “HE! So it’s a boy?!”  Rowan: *laughs* “Oh, right.. I didn’t tell you, huh?” Kimberley: *scoffs* “Uh, yeah! You teased us with it too! But never mind that now.. Show us the the star of the show?!”

Juliet: “I’m so excited..” Kimberley: “I know, right! It seems ages ago that Ro told us she was pregnant and now the baby is finally here..”  Juliet: “Has she told you? If it’s a boy or a girl?” Kimberley: “No! It’s killing me! She was all secretive about it too.” Juliet: “Yeah! Same for me! I begged her even but she wouldn’t tell me either.”  Kimberley: “So cruel.” *laughs*

Kimberley: “Any bets, Juli?”  Juliet: “What? If it’ll be a boy or a girl?”  Kimberley: “No, I mean if it’ll be a walrus or a parakeet.. Yes, of course I mean boy or girl!” *laughs* Juliet: *laughs* “Okay, fine fine. Uh.. I don’t know, honestly. I think Ro would prefer a girl so I’m going for girl.”  Kimberley: “I don’t think she cared.. She wants fifty thousand kids anyway, so whether or not it is a boy or girl probably didn’t matter.. But I think it’s a boy.”  Juliet: “And what is it that we’re betting?”  Kimberley: “The ultimate honor of being right! And.. a strawberry cream cake.” Juliet: “Ohhh! You’re on!”  Kimberley: “Well.. We’re here. So let’s see who owes who.”  Juliet: *grins* “Great.. I’m so hungry. I could go for some cake.”

A silence fell between them and Rowan raised an eyebrow at Kimberley, who then realized they were talking about babies. She laughed, and handed baby Miles to Juliet. 

Kimberley: “Gotta have a lover first. Takes two to create a baby, hm.” Rowan: “Aww! You and Devin broke up?” Juliet: “Oh no, Kim.. Why didn’t you tell me?” Kimberley: *shrugs* “I didn’t want to worry you. But it’s okay, really. We had been growing apart for a while and.. Well.. He told me he met someone else. Someone he knew from his childhood or something, so..” Neil: “I’m sorry.. That sounds rough..” Kimberley: “Eh, it’s fine. To be honest, I’ve been chasing some other guy the last few weeks myself, so I can’t really be mad at him..” *laughs* Rowan: *chuckles* “Why am I not surprised? Well, you should introduce us soon. I’d love to meet him.” Kimberley: *laughs* “Well, maybe soon.. We’re not official or anything so.. But he’s lovely! I know you’d love him.” Rowan: “I’m sure I would..”
