Project 3 process

Overall, our group members have done very hard and well for this project. We worked research and making presentations together. I really think that each of our group members did well as a group and we also presented our concepts and idea in detail on last Monday. I also liked listening other groups’ projects as well. Each group has creative and practical ideas in variety areas. I think that some of ideas would really needed and helpful in our society and it should be developed.

Project 3 process

Our group members are interested medical area and decided to develop a device for monitoring system. Finally, we decided to design an internal monitoring device for the diabetes. With this device, people who are with diabetes do not have to prick their finger to check their blood sugar level. I think this kind of internal monitoring device will help people not only with diabetes but also other diseases because it will manage the disease more regularly and accurately. Since such as diabetes and other diseases related to blood pressure become common among people in today, I believe that developing these devices are needed.

Final Weekly Reflection

I can’t believe this semester went so fast and it’s end. I actually enjoyed Design 1000 class so much and learned a lot. While I was doing each project, I have always try to think creative and different. Now, I think I’m getting used to thinking creative. I hope it will be turned one of my strength. I also, liked everyone I worked with as a group. Each of them was so creative and did good job. I learned a lot from working as a group not as individual. It is sometime much harder than just doing by self, but it brings better and huge outcomes.  I feel so blessed and thankful for Emily and everyone.

Reflection

This week, the weather was really nice and went peacefully except there were many things to do for next week. Such in stressful situation, I have had a time to talk to my parent in my home. Whenever, I have concern or something to consider and decide, I talk to my mom or dad and ask some advice. They do not always give the solution but they give me how to solve and courage me. As always, they welcomed me and told that think positive and big when I was on the phone to talk few days ago. After talked to them, I felt so safe and encouraged and could think positive at my situation. I think they are my mentors in my life and I can’t live without them. I also had time to think of how much they love and sacrifice for me, and I felt so loved and thankful for them. Since the mother’s day is coming, it was great to think of my parent.

Weekly reflection

A public space that I like to spend (especially to study) is Rapson Library. I like this place because it is library but it does not seem like library compare to other libraries. Mostly, other libraries are very quiet and provide the mood of being sealed. Not only that, every desks and chairs are arranged in regularly, barely have windows and with artificial lights (it would be very dark if there aren’t lights even it is daytime). However, these libraries are good for concentrating on my works, but I feel like all I can do and have to do is study at the same time. On the other hand, Rapson library, there are huge windows and sun light comes through the windows, and the overall mood of this place is very bright. Not only that, there are some unique chairs and desks that are very fascinating and does not look like ordinary chairs in library. The library is designed very specially and when I’m in this place I feel like I’m in café. Since it is still library, it is quiet so that it is perfect place to write paper. I have many papers to write for my major, and I like to go there and write paper.

Reflection

When I have several things that are coming, I usually set things in train by importance. Also, I classify the task by long-term and short-term plan. Even though I plan, however, it sometime does not go as I wanted to. Once it happens, everything is overlapping and it makes me feel overwhelmed and so stressful. I think it happens pretty often to me, which is not good, and I usually set re-order of priority when things do not go as planned. Because it suggest and show me what to do and what is more important to go back on track. Not only that, I usually take some time to think about why things that I planned did not go as I planned, and what I should do next time to prevent from happening like what I did. Then, I come back to real and I try to do my best to achieve things that I expected.

Our group worked through google doc and slide after spring break. We did have great time on Wednesday, the workshop day. Since then, our processes for project 2 have been developed a lot. Also, we assigned a role for the presentation. 

For the presentation, we decided to inform our idea by informercial and I think we approached in creative way and it turned out well!

Reflection

While I was thinking about the example of design having a big impact in the world, I was surprised that I could found so many designs that tremendously impact in our lives in a short time. One of them I found was smartphone touch gloves. People such who are using smartphone as they are walking be easily found on the street. However, it is hard to do that when the weather gets cold because most of older gloves do not have function that enables people to use smartphone with it. Now, people can use the smartphone whenever and wherever with smartphone touch gloves. I think this idea and product brought out convenience to us. I did not like this product when the first came out because it sometimes does not work well, but now most of them work well and the industry have been developed. Also, design of gloves has been changed a lot and fashionable so I really like it.
