On a scale of 1 to Thorin dying in Bilbo's arms, how much did Athelstan's death (and everything that happened after) fuck you up? (read: i found someone else who ships both those things, and hi)

how about from scale 1 to Ragnar literally not being able to live without Athelstan?idk, I think Tolkien and Jackson were kind enough not to spend hours showing Bilbo grieving. We only saw him going back home and his grief ended there (for us viewers) and we got the implication of it in the LOTR series (i mean he literally never left Shire after his one adventure and he only left to write his book and die --probably in the lonely mountain).but odindammit, we got --no we get to see Ragnar grieving in more than one episode. and the funny thing is that I thought they would show Ragnar being affected by Athelstan’s death only in 3x06 (his speech and all). and I thought ‘okay, most tv shows don’t really show much after a character’s death’. boy wasn’t I wrong.but on the other hand, I was  more sad with the death of the Durins than the actual death of Athelstan. But the consequences dammit. I haven’t seen a character influence so much a show/movie after their death.
