“ Mr. Jack Rye. ” The man is taller than Rip had first expected, though he looks about as scrawny as a teenager. Were it not for Rip’s intel on who exactly the man is, he would’ve gone the same route as the rest of the potential team and kidnapped him. As it were, Jack seems more the type to snap his neck and ask questions later; a skill that would surely help them on their hunt to take out a certain time travelling bad guy. “ I have a proposition for you, if you’d like a fresh start. ”

Natasha doesn’t really hesitate before her hand wraps around Jack’s thigh. It’s easy enough for her to keep an aloof attitude as her fingers search higher and higher, facial expression neutral, before a devilish smile lights her face. “ Keep drinking, ” she murmurs, quiet enough that not even the bar tender can hear them. The din in the bar is loud enough to mask any noises that escape Jack, but it’s his face she’s more focused on. “ Get though this without us getting caught, and I’ll make it worth your while when we get home. ”

And with a final punch, a man easily near twice the size of Mal fell to the ground with a resounding thump. “that’s what yeh get, y’bleedin’ knobhead!” he says, grinning, a bit of blood dribbling from his nose, the side of his mouth. That’s when he hears the slow clapping. 

“If yer not serious, yer anglin’ t’join him, boyo.” Mal wipes his face, “Enjoy th’show?”

          HE FEELS THE breathe be stolen from his lungs as the fist hit his solar plexus and he wheezes out in pain.  Normally when they sparred,  Connor easily got the upper hand in hits though he wasn’t ever trying to hurt Jack.  They had their own styles of fighting,  where Jack avoided being hit,  Connor laid in to his opponent quickly and got out before he took too much damage.  The fight stance is dropped as he holds his hand up,  needing a minute.  “ I don’t think you’ve ever actually hit me.  Ow.  Is this what pain feels like? ”  He pouts dramatically,  but really he needs the moment to regain his breath.

         “Hey --” It had taken a second -- more than a second, actually -- for her to drum up the courage to knock at the door, clearing her throat as she waited for it to open. It was a bad idea. It had been a bad idea from the start. She’d almost turned around four times. She’d sat in the car for a half an hour ALONE before she managed to turn the key -- but she was HERE now, for better or for worse, hoping -- stupidly, really -- that the coffee she’d brought would be enough of an apology until she figured out what to SAY. “I was in the neighborhood, so ....”

         Donald often traced along Jack’s scars, wondering how he’d gotten them all the while knowing he didn’t want to know. No, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to know, he wanted to, he just knew it would hurt to learn. Though no more than it hurt Jack to talk about it, so he refused to push and gratefully accepted whatever Jack would tell him. Even his reaction to Don touching the scar told him it had been one of the worse ones. Donald never would have guessed what it was from though. 

Torture. He’d been tortured. Don felt his heart break a little for him, he wanted to gather Jack in his arms and tell him everything would be okay, but he was worried that might be a lie. Instead, he leaned down to kiss the scar gently. Belatedly he realized Jack might not be okay with that, and nervously glanced at him for a reaction.

         Suna didn’t like this, they’d been instructed to check out the facility but no one ever mentioned that people had died. Both of them were more than used to death by this point, that wasn’t really the issue. The issue was that she didn’t know what had killed these people, and that was never a good thing. They had no way of knowing if the danger was still present, especially with a facility like this. 

As she stepped around the bodies, she tried to take note of a potential cause of death, there were some injuries but none that looked life threatening.  “ What could have caused this? ”  She asked. It was eerie, and not knowing if she and Jack were in danger was making her anxious.
