Holy shit ya'll DTD (devoted till death) our BNHA Gods au fanfic is almost 30 chps long! I really hope you all like it so far, we've still got quite a bit to go it. We're hoping to get it done before 2025, we're having a lot of fun writing it and appreciate everyone's support. Hopefully, we'll be able to work on the prequel (Love Beyond Mortality) soon as well.

We're so proud of how far we've come, we've worked on this fic since February of 2024 and didn't think we'd ever get here but ya'lll have made this so much fun!

Love Beyond Mortality CHp 8

(Filthy Pride pt3)

“Why can’t I have the blue-haired soldier guy!?” “Because you already claimed his brother!” “You’re really gonna separate them!” “Oh please you don’t really about that, so yes I am!” “Hot head!” “Know-it-all Bitch!” “Picky asshole!”

“Alright alright you two, now who are you picking to be your main?” Asked Allmight, both of the younger gods huffed at each other rolling their eyes.

“Oh, I told you already Allmight” Stated Momo, Allmight nodded.

“Ah that’s right Yuu’s found you one already! Good good, now what about you Young Bakugou?” “Ugh I don’t fucking know, none of them looked strong enough to even begin to hold my power for even a millisecond, weak couple of pansies.” He grumbled out, Allmight then reminded him of the boy that caught his eyes during the tournament.

“Oh but what about that young green-haired boy with the butterfly clip?” “What about him?” “I saw how you looked at him during his final flag capture and you seemed invested.” “Yeah, he was cool or whatever, looked like a scrawny rat though.” “And! I know his family, his father used to be a prime devotee to a goddess I knew. If I’m right about this then he should have no problem absorbing your power with a little bit of training.” This seemed to intrigue Katsuki's side eying Yagi with interest.

“Oh really?” Allmight nodded and sat down in front of him with a smug smile.

“Yes, I recognize that Butterfly clip anywhere, and I’m sure you could feel the energy practically radiating, no meer mortal could withstand its energy without such an ability. Not many mortals are born with it either!” “Fine fine, I guess I’ll take the weakling.” “Good, I shall let him know as soon as possible.”

“Oh Izuku, I’m so proud of you!” Cheered Inko, she tackled him in a hug when her son had come home, and as promised Katsudon was made just for him! Izuku was beaming with pride even if he was soaking wet, caked in blood, while wearing shredded clothes. He had made it through! He had gotten the last flag! Now all he had to do was wait to hear back. He let his mother fix up any injuries he had sustained, changed his clothes after cleaning himself up, and ate his katsudon happily.

It had taken a few days before the delivery man said there was a hologram for him. Upon opening it Izuku was greeted by a hologram of Allmight.

“Hello young mortal! If you are receiving this hologram, you have been selected as a prime devotee to the god of war and the sun!” Izuku almost passed out right then and there hearing the hologram’s message. He did it! He really did it! He’s been accepted! He made it!

“MOM I MADE IT!” He shouted vibrating with excitement as he ran to his mother to show him the message. Inko looked shocked but congratulated him, of course, they celebrated his achievement. However there was still a feeling in Inko’s stomach she could never get rid of. She truly was proud of her son for this accomplishment, this was a huge deal! That didn’t stop her from being terrified of losing him, that didn’t make her feel better about him going off to fight in a war potentially! She worried that he would be taken advantage of and used, but. She couldn’t stop him, not now, she wouldn’t do that to him. Not when he’s worked so hard and fought for his life to get here! She knew from watching Hisashi in their younger years. She was grateful the goddess he worked with was understanding and kind-hearted. Yet Inko knew not all were like her. Inko spent many nights praying to the goddess to look after Izuku, lend him her strength if anything was possible!

Izuku had been curious about when he’d meet the sun god face to face and when training would start but he had not received any word until one morning.

Bang bang bang

There was a hard knock on their home and workshop door early in the morning. Izuku was preparing himself and his mother breakfast before school, while Inko prepped her shop for reopening. She put down her broom and walked over, she figured it was just an emergency client though when she opened the door she couldn’t have been any more wrong!

“Miss Midoriya Inko, good morning!” Allmight greeted with a bright smile on the other side of the threshold, Inko looked up at the god wide-eyed. She quickly gathered herself and smiled back while stammering out a return.

“Oh! King A-Allmight, go-good morning to you too! Wh-what brings you here?” “Oh, no need to call me that, you know my name dear. And I’m sorry for the unexpected visit but I figured young Bakugou -the god who your son has been chosen by- should meet you and him in person.” Allmight then pulled Katsuki into the frame by his shoulder, he didn’t seem all to pleased to be there but not angry, more so indifferent. He did seem like a teenager so that sort of behavior wasn’t uncommon immortal or not.

“Ah I see, um well come on in, sorry for the mess, I was cleaning up not long ago.” She replied sheepishly while stepping to the side allowing the two gods inside her home.

“It's not a problem, this place is rather tidy, I see you’re still helping out the citizens like before.” “Oh yes, it's never a dull day with this job but it's enjoyable, it keeps me on my toes.”

When the two entered Izuku couldn’t hear them over the roaring stove’s fire and sizzling of meat in the frying pan but he could sense them. A warm fiery energy, giving off a low frequency like a sleeping volcano. And another that gave off the feeling that a storm was coming.

“Who’s at the door, Mom?” Izuku asked, the energy grew stronger and stronger and the sound of the floorboards creaking as if more people had entered.

“Allmight and the young god who selected you!” Izuku almost froze in place, his head whipped around to see both Katsuki and Allmight standing just a few feet from the kitchen! Izuku was too stunned to speak, these two gods were in his home! It wasn’t until Inko asked if they wanted anything to eat, offering that it wouldn’t be of much trouble to do it that Izuku snapped out of it.

“That would be lovely if you don’t mind, the boys have quite a few things to get done.” Izuku furrowed his brows and asked if he was still going to school or how it would affect his schooling.

“Don’t worry, you wont have to worry much about your school attendance, teacher wise they do not make much of a fuss about it.” He didn’t know how true that really was, when he did return to school after the tournament many of his teachers seemed surprised he even came back. Some muttered about how it was a shame he had survived in contrast to some of his peers who went and never came back! Many of his teachers and peers questioned whether or not he chickened out due to his comeback but he had the scars to prove it. He did not tell them that he had received an acceptance message so if his attendance waned they’d figure it out soon.

Izuku pushed his worries from his mind as he added more meat, rice and eggs to his pan while the others talked at the table close by.

“Inko its been quite some time since I’ve visited you but must I say you have a wonderful son! The strength he already has around divine energy is incredible!” Complimented Yagi, Inko smiled and told him he gets it from his father. Yagi brushed it off and added to it.

“From what I can tell he may get it from you! Your affinity to the divine and immortals is just as strong as your tolerance for their energy.” “R-really?” “Oh yes usually both parents need to be able to handle this sort of energy for it to be passed down to their offspring when the threshold is this strong, it couldn’t have been just Hisashi alone.” Izuku was curious about this he had heard in passing about divine energy and how some people did not do well around it, even the smallest amount of an sudden uptick would cause some sot of negative reaction for some. This posed a problem for serious devotees who would die trying to call upon their god’s power or have to suffer some sort of agonizing pain whether it was mental or physical.

Once breakfast had been served Izuku seated himself across from Yagi and Katsuki.

“So what’s your quirk?” Asked Katsuki, Izuku felt his blood run cold, his heart stopped and his face paled at his question.

“What is it shitty or something, ya look like I just killed your sheep.” Katsuki was blunt and hard in his tone, Izuku was praying for the ground to swallow him at this moment. He knew that one day they’d ask about if he had a quirk or not though he wished it wouldn’t be so soon! Well there went his dreams, right down the toilet, he’d certainly reject him now!

“i-I…I don’t have o-one.” He answered timidly, Katsuki raised furrowed his brows for a second as if he were trying to register what Izuku had just told him. Izuku was waiting for it, to be burned, to be hit, laughed at, called cruel names, anything!

“Ugh, alright, that might make this somewhat easier.” What? “Wh-what?” “You not having a quirk, yeah not fucking ideal but means there’s just different shit to work on, means I don’t need to make you balance a quirk and my powers. Just means I’m gonna have to whip your scrawny ass into shape.” His heart began to beat again, his blood finally making it back to his brain, and his fear slowly dissipated. Inko was still there to ground him with small back rubs.

“He’s been through a lot when it comes to people finding out he’s quirkless, hence the anxious reaction.” She explained, the all-fathering god nodded in understanding and looked to Izuku.

“As gods, we’ve had to learn and adapt our approach to things as you mortals grow and evolve like customs, physical changes, religious changes, structural the list goes on!” This seemed to ease Izuku’s anxiety, there really was a possibility of him becoming a devotee!

“Y-Yagi….I-I know I sound like a mother hen here but I’m sure you can understand my fear when I say this….I want Izuku to do what makes him happy but I don’t want to lose him.” Inko stated shakily, Yagi flashed a loving smile at her and took her small hands in his. Blue eyes meeting bright green.

“Your son is in good hands, he has a fighting spirit, one that won't rest until he gets what he wants. Hisashi would be beyond proud of him. Izuku will be alright, dear, I promise."

Love Beyond Mortality CHp7

(Filthy Pride pt2) (CW mention of drowning & blood nothing crazy) It didn’t take long for Izuku to get to the forest. He didn’t know if the flags would be in colored order, but he kept himself wary of surroundings not only for the flags. He knew this forest was filled with more than just ordinary plants. Causing one another bodily harm or killing was not off the table and he was a walking target for those who survived the sandworms. He was going to have to watch his back more than he’d like.

There was something strange about this forest, he knew he wouldn’t be alone but he did not expect to feel a surge of energy running through him. He could not identify what it was but it gave him extra speed and agility. Looking around he saw one of the flags tied to a branch high up in a large tree. Going up to the tree he put on his gloves and got to climbing. The higher he climbed the farther it seemed to get, as if this tree was getting taller! He looked down he did make it a few feet off the ground but no closer to the flag. He sat himself on a sturdy branch to evaluate this, if this tree was truly growing while he climbed it, then climbing would be useless…maybe he could chop it down? Pulling out his sword he threw it at the branch and it snagged the flag on the way down. He slid down the tree grabbed his sword and the flag, and stashed it in his bag. Just as he grabbed it he heard a scream in the distance, he was pretty deep in the forest and the sounds of hissing alarmed him! He knew to keep it moving, even if he wanted to help it’d be best to get out of there.

He got a red and orange flag, the red was in the tree while the orange one had been found in a bush which he almost mistook for a flower. Now he was making his way to the lagoon! He had never been to the lagoon but he knew there was a deity as well as a few creatures who inhabited the waters. Sheathing his sword back into its holder he made sure to put the flags into a nice hidden place.

Arriving at the lagoon he was already getting shoved out of the way by other competitors who dove into the water. So he went around up towards a large pirate ship, he found a latter, and climbed up aboard where a group of pirates were tending to the upper deck. He figured it’d be best to ask than just go snooping around the place.

“Um excuse me!” He waved as he settled himself, a few from the group paused their work.

“Ey there’s a kid up here!” “Ah what’s he want?” “Don’t know” Izuku politely walked up to them and pardoned himself for interrupting.

“Sorry for interrupting your work but, I’m a part of the Capture the Flag group. Have you guys seen any small flags that may be of any sorted rainbow color?” A man with a broom raised his hand.

“Oh yeah, I saw a yellow one up in the crow’s nest” Izuku looked up at the crow's nest of the ship and nodded.

“Thanks, is it alright if I go up and get it? Also if ya see any other could ya let me know, I didn’t wanna just go digging around your ship without asking”

“Yeah go right on a head kid, and no worries, you’re a kind one so it's fine, we’ll keep an eye out.” Izuku got to climbing up the crow's nest and got the flag. He took a moment to look out below and saw something he never thought he’d see. A bunch of tentacles writhing and whirling out of the water. Izuku saw a few people get thrown out of the water, he had a feeling he was gonna have to go down there eventually. He had to figure out what was there before he stepped foot in the water. Sliding his way back down a crew member told him the captain wanted to talk with him. Izuku was a little surprised by this, but he wasn’t going to pass it up, if the rumors were true, he’d be meeting the god of the sea!

Stepping onto the deck a cabin door opened and a large man dressed in pirate-like attire and blond hair came out.

“Ah, you’re the young mortal who’s looking for flags right?” Asked the captain, Izuku nodded and introduced himself, the captain smiled and returned the introduction.

“Nice to meet you Izuku, I’m Captain Taishiro god of the sea, welcome to my ship.” “Nice to meet you as well, why did you want to see me, sir?” Izuku asked sheepishly, Taishirou answered him while guiding him to the front of the ship.

“I like meeting those who board, it's just courtesy, and I like to help who I can. And I hear you’re one of the contenders.” Izuku nodded in understanding, he could sense Taishirou’s energy. The captain smelled of the ocean breeze but it wasn’t overly salty like he expected, there was a floral scent that muddled it out. His energy was gentle and warm as if he was trying to reassure the boy he would keep him safe. Izuku looked out to the edge and out at the water—the sounds of laughter and screaming intermixed some playful some out of terror. Merfolk splashed around and sprayed water at the other mortals trying to escape.

“As you can see this lagoon is home to many creatures that I am fond of, they are my people. The tentacles coming out of them are from my son, a Kraken.” A kraken! Izuku had heard many things about Kraken, how they could be very conniving and cruel. It could tear ships into pieces and cause tsunamis.

“He has your flags hidden though you won't have to worry much about him, he’s very shy and anxious. It's the merfolk and nymphs you’ll have to get past first, they’re just as protective of their home. If they let you through, my son will most likely help you.” That was good to know at least, now he just had to figure out how he’d do that. With a thanks Izuku made it down to the shore, he knew everyone else was just diving in without even asking or trying to kill each other so he thankfully wouldn’t be bothered by them.

Then it struck him, merfolk and nymphs loved to trade, it was how they got goods amongst each other. He just had to find something that he had on him that he could trade. Fishing through his pockets he found a dagger, this immediately caught the eyes of a few merfolk. They swam up to him splashing their tails for his attention. Izuku smiled and knelt to them.

“Hi, if you let me into your waters or maybe help me find some flags, you guys can have this.” He offered, the mermaids grinned widely and nodded parting themselves and waving him in. Izuku stripped off his boots, and gloves and waded in. The water was very warm and grew deeper and deeper almost up to his hips! As other creatures saw him, the pod who let him in kept them at bay relaying their trade. He could understand their wariness and made sure not to seem threatening. They led him out to where the lagoon connected with the ocean. The tentacles were still roaming around making strong waves as they slapped and crashed into the waters. He had a feeling he wasn’t going to get much done by surface swimming, might as well take a look down there! Taking in a gulp of air, he dove down. It was shallow enough for the light to reach the depths showing a sunken ship with tentacle wriggling through it.

Swimming down to the shipwreck, Izuku did his best to dodge the tentacles while he looked around. Weaving over and under, slipping through cracks, the sunlight didn’t reach the inside disaster. So he almost screamed when he was face to face with the Kraken. The beast let out a scream and scrambled before Izuku could even get a clear look. Izuku could feel himself running out of air and clasped his hands together making an air pocket inside. Holding it over his nose and mouth so he could breathe for a bit. It was a trick he had taught himself when he was learning how to swim. Once he got a new set of air in his lungs he continued down, this time following the bunches of tentacles. Pushing through doors, barrels, and rotten wooden planks until he finally reached a cabin and saw the Kraken with his very eyes. An older boy with indigo-colored hair matching his tentacles was hiding, using his tentacles to push Midoriya away. Izuku could now see what the captain meant by his son being shy though he did expect someone a bit more….monsterous…. This boy looked almost human if you didn’t see the lower half of his body!

Izuku held up his hands defensively, he couldn’t talk underwater so he had to rely on charades. He grabbed one of the flags he had gained in the forest and showed it to the other and then pointed to him with a curious expression. The Kraken nodded and was about to say some when the loud rustling of things inside the ship came. Izuku turned around to see a group of competitors bustling in shoving through the wreckage. Izuku swam backward towards the Kraken who looked petrified. Izuku noticed one of them had a spear and made haste to push the mythic out of the way when the weapon was launched. The competitors rushed over to grab their flags and swam away.

“Thanks for saving me” Spoke the Kraken shyly, Izuku gave a small smile before checking to see if there were any flags left. Much to his disappointment, there wasn’t and he was running out of air. Using his trick didn’t always work, he didn’t want to use it more than once, and with all the wreckage now blocking their path he wouldn’t be able to get out without using it a third time. His lungs were beginning to hurt, his heart was pounding in his chest, and he had to get out of there! The sea monster noticed Izuku’s panic and seemed to understand. Without wasting a second the Kraken grabbed him and swam up to the top of the shipwreck after smashing through with his tentacles. The higher up they went the blacking Izuku’s vision was becoming due to lack of oxygen. Just in time, they broke the surface, gasping and sputtering for air Izuku felt relief when air filled his lungs and not water.

While he hacked and coughed the Kraken brought him to the lagoon where the two competitors were.

“Hey, watch this” Izuku replied with a breathless ‘huh?’ and looked around. Four large tentacles raised from the water high into the air and came down with a crash. Sending almost 20-foot waves the competitor’s way knocking them down and pulling them into the ocean. When he slammed down against the water again he grabbed onto the two and yanked them through the waters and over to them face down not letting them up for air! Izuku was rather surprised by the being’s gesture and even more so when he handed him a yellow and green flag.

“Here, as a thanks for saving me.” Izuku gratefully took the flags and made his way back to the mermaids. One of them flailed their arms for his attention, Izuku thought it was just because they were excited he was back and they could have the dagger he promised which he fished out for them as he trekked over. Though much to his surprise a little mermaid swam up to him holding a blue flag.

“I found this on a dead human, is this what you’re looking for?” Izuku nodded and handed them the dagger just as promised. Well, now he only needed two more flags. With one last thank you, he put his boots and gloves back on, left the lagoon, and ran back to the Colosseum. The sun was halfway around, he was making good timing!

Coming back to the arena it was no surprise that the place was a mess of bodies, someone had taken down a few sand worms thankfully but not all. He wondered where these flags could be, this place didn’t exactly have the best place to hide things but was also so widespread! There was still a considerable amount of people left. Izuku had been fortunate to not need to harm anyone to get what he wanted once this started and he hoped he wouldn’t have to.

He stood on the steps of the Colosseum to get a better look around and in the middle of a sand pit was a sandworm holding onto a flag. He thought if he was quick enough he could get down there before anyone else had noticed. Making a run for it as soon as he thought no one was looking Izuku drew his sword and slashed the worm’s tendril and reached to get the flag. Until it was snatched out of his hands!

“No fucking way am I letting you win this, you freak!” Growled one of Izuku’s classmates, said classmate kicked him square in the chest knocking the wind out of him. Izuku was sent flying backward clutching his chest, he didn’t stay down though. He staggered to his feet as a sudden rage began to fill him. He sighed and whispered a quick prayer.

“To the deity who passed this pendant to my father, wish me luck!” Izuku adjusted his grip on his sword and charged while letting out what could be described as a war cry. He saw red!

“I have been treated like nothing but trash, dirt beneath your shoes for far too fucking long and I’m not letting you take this from me! No, I won't fucking allow it!” He tackled the student to the ground, straddling his waist and locking his legs with a sadistic glint as he raised his sword above his head.

“NEVER AGAIN!” He plunge the sword into the person’s chest with a strength he didn’t even know he had! In and out in and out until the body stopped moving and dropped the flag. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw others approaching sneakily. Pocketing the flag and drawing his sword from the limp body he pointed its bloody tip out towards the group.

“Who fucking wants to test me!?”

Up in the stands, this sudden change in behavior caught Katsuki’s eye as well as Allmights

So i wanna ramble about my Gods AU that I have mainly on my ao3 called 'devoted till death' but I'm also posting the sequels here under the title 'Love beyond mortality'. this is mainly based on greek myth though its not going to be 10000% accurate n stuff lets start with the gods Bakugou is the god of the sun & war Momo is the goddess of the Moon, hunting, knowledge & strategic war Shinsou is the god of sleep, dreams, nightmares Shouto is the goddess (yes I made shouto a girl...deal with it) of the mind and seasonal change. And she is also a princess Izuku is the god of nature Shouta is a demi gorgon (is based on the SA Myths of Medusa) but is also a protector of children Toyomitsu is the god of the seas Nagant is/was the god of love, Lust, desire, madness, wine (think of combining Eros & Dionysus) Now onto the backgrounds of their devotees (basically the ships) Platonic Bakudeku, before deku became a god he used to be one fo bakugou's devotees before something went horribly wrong Kiribaku, Kirishima runs a tavern and is Bakugou's current devotee

MomoJirou, Jirou is male in this AU and is Momo's current devotee. Jirou is a commoner of the village who loves playing music and always practices around Momo's temple

ShinKami, Kami is a prince who's trying to prove his worth and becomes a devotee for shinsou...who is terrified to have a devotee (I mean most of the young gods are to be fair)

IzuOcha, Ochako became deku's devotee to help her parents. Ochako was hand chosen by Allmight for izuku. SeroRoki, Sero is a school teacher who accidently became Roki's devotee when he came with Tetsutetsu to an even Enji had set up for Roki to find a devotee. ShoZashi, Zashi is Shouta's devotee and has been for a long time, they are soul-bonded (in the current devoted till death time line). ToyoMuri, Nemuri is of course Taishirou's devotee. Taishirou was personally assigned by Shouta to protect Nemuri with his life. Nemuri runs a bakery and Taishiro can't stay away from chocolate chip cookies to save himself lol. KeiGant, Keigo was Nagant's devotee until something horrific happened and then became Enji's (lol I will not be spoiling this for ya'll)
