Destiny 2: The Old Court
Finished King's Fall :) The conversation here was "Quickly take the picture before Oryx floats away!"
Also the team after Warpriest. These two screenies are by @falconschase
Some cool assorted screenshots from @thejabberwocki :
Destiny 2: Lifeless Light
Destiny 2: In The Ribs
you are wrong, Oryx stands at the front! why would you make a giant window vista of Saturn at the back of a room! makes no sense. #discourse
I can't believe this. Attacked in my own house.
i haven't played D2 for a while so before getting back into it i thought i'd just. quickly ask whether the return of the King's Fall raid is lore significant? I never really got how returning raids works lore wise or if its just bungie being like "hey isn't this a cool idea"
It's not lore relevant. Both Vault of Glass and King's Fall are just purely gameplay only. They don't really have any voice lines either or lore tabs attached to any items.
Returning raids (and stuff like old strikes such as Fallen S.A.B.E.R. or even Arms Dealer that still has voice lines from Cayde) are treated as sort of windows into past events that we can relive as they were at the time, but don't actually exist in lore anymore. Rather than just be forced to delete or heavily update any returning content, they're in the game for purely gameplay reasons.
King's Fall is interesting because one of Savathun's 2-lies-2-truths quests from Altars of Reflection featured one sentence being "The Taken King will rise again" which could've been a cheeky nod to King's Fall coming back being referenced in the game. Savathun is known to break the 4th wall so it's possible that she referenced a raid returning without it being actually all that important lore-wise.
Returning raids themselves are definitely not considered new lore content.
