Ur fanfic killed me OK BUT WHat if like after Kaneki waited like 5 to 6 months to get surgery so he could feel the pain Hide felt And when he goes to the hospital he hopes to die during surgery like Hide did, only he doesn't die hahaha- // im sorr y

i would imagine kaneki would put himself through that pain; like, the amount of time hide spent suffering, he would wait that long to get the surgery. just imagine him slowly wasting his life away, crying and like... regretting not loving hide sooner. imagine the others trying to get kaneki to remove the flower in its first stages, but kaneki just refuses because he wants to make up for the pain hide felt. and yeah, kaneki would survive the surgery bc you know, ghoul resistance and stuff, but imagine him coming out of the surgery, the flower removed, and he just breaks down because the flower was like the sort of last connection he had to hide.
