Markus was born into a good life over half a century ago. He remembers very little about his childhood but what he does remember was his vampiric adolescence and how he was morphed into the leader he is now.
Markus was created by someone he remarks is a vengeful bitch, he remembers spending several years with her before realizing he could do much better than her conniving ways. Which proved to be a harder break than he would imagine, especially from her end.
Their journey though led to many changes in his life. His human life was spent primarily in the realm of King’s Hill from his memory. Until his sire used her compulsion to steal him away to the Haven Realm where he was turned and lived the majority of the beginning of his new life. They travelled the realms together, until their split came in the Northland where Markus found other people to learn from that wouldn’t just drag him around like a dog on a leash.
The Northland was a new experience, where what he had become was more than just a curse. What Markus had become somewhat ashamed of was now becoming what he was most proud of. As relationships with some of the more prominent vampires in the Northland grew so did Markus’ love of the culture he was learning about.
Then the great split took place. Markus fought against the vampire hybrid's attempt to change his world but was unsuccessful. With the changes now in place he took the opportunity to devote himself to becoming the High Lord of the Vampires. After several tries and several failings of him succeeding.
With the revelation of the new Goddess of the Divine, Markus saw an opportunity to not only avenge the ones she had taken from them, but to prove the superiority of his kind to the rest of Northland and Lume Noua.
