Hard to believe the #beastieboys classic debut album #licensedtoill is 30 years old today. It was a bombshell when it came out in 1986, becoming the first #hiphop album to top the #billboard chart and serving notice that #defjam records and #rickrubin were a force to be reckoned with. At the time I didn't like it that much; I found the beasties #fratboy image annoying and thought the songs were mostly stupid. It grew on me after hearing it repeatedly for the next 2 years and I came to realize after #paulsboutique came out in 1989 that their image was ironic and that they really did have talent.
