The extremely fast round-shaped bird has a long, thin beak and red jewel-like eyes. Wizards almost hunted these birds to extinction because of their prized feathers and eyes. However, this danger was put to rest when the Snidget was substituted for the Snitch. Snidget sanctuaries can be found worldwide now and there are severe punishments for their capture or injury. While the Snidget became an endangered species hundreds of years before Newt’s journeys, it would still be fun to see the former Golden Snitch used in some way. What if some dark wizards tried to get their hands on these prized Snidgets? Newt could try to bring these wizards to justice and save a dying group of creatures.

Each of the Runespoor’s heads serves a different purpose. From left to right, they serve as the planner, dreamer and critic. It’s rare to see this fearsome serpent at an old age since the heads often attack each other, with the right “critic” head usually being the first to die for it’s constant criticizing. However, the Runespoor’s most intriguing aspect is that it produces eggs which can stimulate mental agility. For centuries, there has even been a black market for both the serpents and their eggs. Newt may come face-to-face with several beasts but the real evil may come from actual human beings. What would happen if Newt accidentally came into possession of a Runespoor egg? What if he gets mixed up with the wrong types of witches and wizards and the only way to get them out of his life is to acquire one of these eggs? The story options for the Runespoor are endless and would provide a neat way to illustrate darker moments from before Lord Voldemort came to power.
