I’VE BEEN SHIPPING IT SINCE I WAS 7 TOO. Unconsciously shipping it. I just remember being really happy seeing them together, and then this past weekend I realized that I really do ship it. I really. Do. Ship. It. They’re soulmates.

Even my mother ships it. When the last book came out and I announced that I had finished it, the very first question she asked was "So do Harry and Hermione finally get together?" When I told her that no, Hermione and Ron get married and have bush-haired ginger babies while Harry marries Ginny and inflicts ridiculous names upon their children, she went into mourning for like a week. She kept walking around the house muttering "It's just not right. Hermione's supposed to be Harry's girl. It's just not right."
