this makes sense and fits with what little I've seen
I don't think the right response is to attack and ridicule the culture as a whole, though?? like I don't know it seems like that's just perpetuating the problem

general tsao's yuuya is my favorite food
yes--if you were already in the process of summoning someone when they invaded, you can probably get at least one phantom in before they find you, though it's not guaranteed.
anon had same weird ideas and I'm sort of glad they haven't sent me anymore messages
I was just wondering the same thing

Reviews like these are what’re making me really interested in playing the game when I’ve never been into the series at all before, hmm.
It's a good game! I feel like I do have to put a content warning right on the cover for the one controversial scene, but it's been perceived in a wide variety of ways. Many consider it well handled, and not just men. So, I don't know! But I didn't feel like it was a huge detractor from the game as a whole.
kingdweeb replied to your post: Tomb Raider Review!
I’ve been wondering something though: a few reviews I’ve read said that it felt like there was a pretty large disconnect between them showing Lara being new to everything and how quickly she’s actually killing people. Do you agree with that?
As far as killing people, I absolutely agree! They try to touch on this at a couple of points, but they're singular lines, and that message of "what it means to kill" is ultimately a throwaway trait. It's poor writing on that part; they approach the subject and subsequently toss it out because no one wants to play a Tomb Raider game where it's hard to kill. Hell, shooting and killing is actually one of the better and more fun parts of the game! Why make the player feel bad when they're trying to have fun, y'know? Maybe that's why they didn't bother tackling that subject.
As for the rest of her development, there's a lot of give and take. She struggles pretty well early on, and there's certainly a lot of tripping and falling, and numerous instances where she gets wounded and has to stumble around for a bit. They hint at her skills prior to the game, though, so she's hardly as fresh-faced as the designers let on in previews. She already knew how to fire a gun, shoot a bow and arrow, rock-climb, all manner of good stuff. She's just getting acclimated to the application of said abilities in a jungle environment, and, however challenging that may be, her skill development is naturally very minimal and tied more to the gadgets and weapons she nabs along the way.
kingdweeb replied to your post: so like can someone explain region locks on games...
anyway in general the only things region-locked currently are the 360 (but this is by game; some have opted to let them be free), 3DS, and the Wii/Wii U I think
oh lord thank you sony thank you now i just need to figure out the menus when i get the game because i can't read japanese at all..........
kingdweeb replied to your post: 7u7 replied to your post: so like can someone...
the only PS3 game ever to get locked is Persona 4 Arena for some bizarre reason but thats not gonna happen again so if we have to import (Bandais apparently trademarked the name in the US or something??) itll play fine
i'm so happy oh my god i really need this game in my life i was so worried
