Also also… If Abel is a projection of Caine and reflects him in a lot of ways, it REALLY makes me wonder if Caine was A: At least partially created by Kinger, and B: Resents him more than he wants to for that.
Because Caine mentions when showing Jax his photos that, “This is all I could get before they cut me off.” And how much he’s obsessed with the real world.
And in the hallway scene, Abel’s whole ‘Reason’ for not wanting to get Kinger involved, is… Intriguing with this knowledge that he was created by Caine.
But ESPECIALLY this line later:
Because Caine is… Fully aware he can’t leave the circus, no matter how much he wants to. And creating a hyper-intelligent artificial intelligence that knows they’re trapped might make them resent you a bit.
And given Gummigoo, also a very intelligent artificial intelligence, freaked out upon learning he wasn’t real… Is it possible that Caine had a somewhat similar reaction?
Not to bring up what probably everyone is quoting but that one ‘I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream’ quote that goes like, “And I was in hell, looking at heaven” in response to AM not being able to do simply human things like feel the dirt underneath his fingernails and such… Well, it fits in this context.
Take it all with a grain of salt given Abel likely made up a lot of things at Caine’s direction, but at the same time, it makes you wonder how much of it was true.
