sometimes i wonder what is our purpose in life and why we do anything. i mean, we all die in the end. i wonder why i love to write - stories, plays, novels, screenplays - when so many other people have already created so many amazing things and it seems like there are no more compelling ideas. i want to be recognized for something that impacts people in a good way. (something in entertainment?) but i don't want to be famous. have a nice sleepover.

Geez, this is a deep sleepover.

But yeah, I feel you. And that’s definitely something that’s worth thinking about. And I guess the reason that we love doing things and why it’s our purpose is so that we can create/do something so our life isn’t meaningless? If that makes any sense :0

This is actually something I came away with from my retreat and it's kinda cliche  I aspire to find and be myself

Well there's this one person I used to be friends with (kinda) and we don't quite talk anymore (well he was civil when I asked him for that link to a Macbeth adaptation) and I wouldn't mind talking again. 

9) if you had to move, where would you want to go?

Someplace that's not New York and smaller 

10) three books you would recommend?

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez Any book by Gillian Flynn because her prose is something else 

11) if you got to choose who wrote a book based on your life, who would you want to write it?

Okay this is hard because I would say Gillian Flynn but her prose always has that undertone that implies so many dark things (which I like, don't get me wrong). Or Victor LaValle because he can write batshit scary, a truly nuanced scene and something heartfelt but I think that that would still leave some ambiguity. Not Chuck Palahniuk. But I think I would go with Joyce Carol Oates just because everything just flows out so naturally from her prose (something I remember feeling when I read her short story Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?).
