I dunno why but I feel like Gokkan would have stockpiles of preserved or ready-made food items for emergencies because it's a tundra so Rita would sometimes have cup ramen late at night while working. Himeno never had any bc why would the Queen of Ishabana eat that when she has servants available 24/7 that can whip something fast and simple for her? But she likes it after insisting on staying in Gokkan for a night while the two are working and was feeling peckish. The three would just chill and chat over some while Rita gets some last-minute work done lol
Saw a piece of fanart of Rita and Grodie and it made me think back to my Rita Right Eye Theory paper and...
Imagine how fcked up the story would've been if Rita actually was related to Grodie.
Learning your bio dad is the one that caused God's Wrath, murder your bestie-to-be's parents, be the reason why you were crowned King, and then resurrect your predecessor as a fcking zombie who attacks said bestie's country. Not to mention being related to the Space Bug King in addition to all that.
No amount of therapy would ever fix them if that was ever an option for Rita's storyline. None. That would've been another gut-wrenching mini-arc of its own.
They and Gira would be sitting at a bar drunk as fuck questioning the meaning of their existence before their wives show up to take care of them and remind them that whatever the fck Dugded and Grodie did weren't their fault and they're not like their dads.
Fck, imagine how complicated HimeRita would've been if that was the case! Oh my Shugods! !Σ( ̄□ ̄;)
I think an interesting thing about the preview photos that people are overlooking is Himeno being in Rita's office.
Yes, people have noted Himeno in Rita's personal private space, but my focus is her looking through everything which is an argument I have for what Goma did to Rita.
So Goma could've done a body swap as his intro episode had a body swap. But he's a ninja so he has more than one trick up his sleeve.
And while I've said "personality swap" many times, I don't necessarily mean Goma switching Rita's personality with someone else. Twisting their personality or bringing forth their buried emotions seems to be a more fitting description of my prediction before.
Now in the photo, Himeno looks rather shocked as she's looking at papers that appears to be in a box. A secure box, to be more specific.
And from what I can make from the details, they appear to be drawings of sorts. (What can't Rita do???)
So I feel like with the visible details in the drawings and the fact that the Galactinsects tends to keep an eye on the Kings and Goma being a ninja so he snoops around, it's possible his technique brought forth what Rita used to think about as a kid or what they dreamed about should they have not been confined to becoming King and Supreme Justice, allowing them to be more honest while also taking advantage of such a huge secret and manipulating them.
So I feel like Goma is simply forcing Rita to let their inner child out and make them believe they are not bound to their job as we've always seen them.
What actually encourages it is Rita's line this week where Kaguragi decided to use them as a distraction to fight/seal Grodie while he handles Iroki.
"Everyone keeps doing whatever they want. What the heck am I doing...?!"
And then they get whisked away by Goma before they could fight.
Rita's line in Episode 37 makes sense when you connect it to their goal in 38.
The timeline is kinda messy in the 5 Kingdom Reclamation Arc, but it makes sense.
I'll have it in the essay btw but y'know. I'll list off the timeline
Rita rounding up the prisoners in 35 because they escaped
Gorma took the opportunity to switch their personalities so they can become pawns to the Space Bugs.
Rita finds themself unneeded for the time being so they investigate the other countries hence why they were with the others in 36 (Do note that technically they aren't King or Supreme Justice at the time)
Rita is asked to assist Toufu.
Minongan jumps into Gokkan to pitch the idol auditions with Dagded so the Space Bugs can have their own personal pet idol
Rita finds themself used by Kaguragi as a distraction leading to their "What the heck am I doing?" line
They face off against Glordi but is whisked away by Gorma back to Gokkan
They see what is going on with the large venue and auditions.
So an interesting thing about it all is that the Space Bugs were trying to convince Rita that they're only hiding their true self since Rita has always been a mysterious person so the enemy thinks of them as such. Perhaps believe they can also be easily manipulated if they play the right cards to have Rita join their side.
But Rita is unwavering. They were trained for situations like this and played along with it just to investigate.
Being brought back to Gokkan to find what Gorma and Minongan did gave them the reason they needed to take back their country and job much like the other Kings (Sebas temporarily going back to being Romane to buy Himeno time to save her people, Kaguragi using Rita as a distraction to confront Iroki). They're just trying to play the long game while doing so.
If the KingOhgers were in a high school AU, I can 100% see Racles and Rita (Student Council President and Vice President) constantly running from hoards of girls on Valentines Day. Just parkour all over campus trying to escape 😂
Racles escapes only when Suzume sees him and she scoops him up for herself (much to his and Kagu's dismay). Suzume tends to be scary once other girls try to get close to her bf so they back off.
Rita escapes by hiding in their class's supply locker. The boys are usually there before them so they open up a window and help open and close the locker for them to say "you just missed them" to the hoard while pointing to the window.
If the Jesters go to Hakabaka (KingOh's Afterlife), then Kamejim and Grodie are going to be jumped by a shit ton of dead people 🤣🤣
Kamejim has Desnarak, Nephilia, Jeramie's Dad, Karras, and Shiron. Maybe Diid and Metalli if they knew what he did to Himeno and Ishabana in Episode 36 (which would make Karras and Shiron angrier bc he almost killed their adoptive child)
Grodie got the Ishabana couple, the Gokkan couple, Iroki, and everyone who fcking died during God's Wrath.
Hillbill will have Desnarak and Jeramie's parents.
Gorma would probably be safe for the most part.
Minongan got Karras and Shiron jumping him for making Rita go undercover like that 🤣
Random Gokkan Theory before Episode 38's Preview drops.
So the only important characters in KingOhger that don't have their last names revealed are Douga, Kuroda, and Morfonia (edit: and Shiokara. My b. Messed up bc his name has a specific bug connection). Of the 3, only Morfonia's name has a connection to her country's insect (morpho butterfly).
But my fanfic-writing arse decided to figure out how to name her parents in my Sailor Moffun AU so I decided to look up different species of the morpho butterfly to name at least her Mom. And I reached a theory:
Morfonia is not named specifically after the Blue Emperor Butterfly from what I've seen.
Now the term "morpho" is used for both the genus and subgenus. The subgenus being the one where the blue emperor is found. I can assume everything would immediately link Morf to the Blue Emperor much like how we connect Rita to the Blue Admiral.
But what none of the species under that subgenus have is the end of Morf's name "nia"
The closest would be the "morpho deidamia" but it wouldn't match up with her name and the character names typically try not to deviate. Closest one would be Sebas's real name which is after the Idolomantis diabolica. The only difference would be using ン(n) instead of ル(l) in Japanese.
I know the exception could be made for Morf as well given how blue is the closest thing we could get to purple in terms of butterflies, but if they really wanted to name her after an emperor butterfly, why go with the morfo and not the Sasakia genus that the Japanese purple emperor belongs to?
Now the crazy part is that I decided to take things a little more literally. Say... Morf's hair. I shouldn't, but I find it very interesting how she is the only young character to have hair that isn't your usual shade. Himeno's hair is most likely a natural blonde with pink streaks but she constantly wears wigs or dyes it so I honestly don't know. Yanma dyes, Gira's streaks are natural, HoneyWeb are just old and stressed so they're graying 🤣. I can't explain Karras with her split hair and the Papillio deHaani doesn't have any traces of white, but eh.
But I will make an exception for Morf simply because she's such an outlier with Himeno when it comes to straying from standard Japanese hair colors while also at a young age.
So in comes the subgenus "Pessonia" which just so happens to hold species of morpho butterflies predominantly white in color.
I will say it's very weird how the last part of her name is most likely from the subgenus name and not anything else. But I'm only guessing this simply because we don't know her last name and character names tend to be actual pieces of their scientific/Japanese/English names. Still weird how Gira is the only one that got his name from the English name.
But this is just a personal theory that came up during fanfic writing. I do hope the Gokkan episode does reveal her last name. Imagine her being called "Morfonia Luna" or something.
I am not allowed to be alone with my thoughts now that we're a day away from the preview for the Gokkan episode (my theory brain tends to override hype for the actual episode b4 the preview whenever RitaMorf lore is involved).
Because right now I'm thinking back to the Kasumi Birthday photo posted a week after her birthday and having it take that long for her to go back to set to film means it's most likely her filming the Reclaim Gokkan episode. Not to mention Himeno is in her usual Chapter 2 dress again but also a different hairstyle which means just enough time has passed for her to get it done from her maids.
So what in the fck happened for the photo to include Gira, Himeno, and Jeramie, but not Rita?
Was Yuzuki simply not schedule for the day?
Did something happen to Rita?
Was RitaMorf bodyswapped and Kasumi is actually playing Rita and Yuzuyan Morf?
Tbh, I wanna step away from the bodyswap even though each Jester seems to be showing off their specialty. Sure, it could bring up the way Gokkan's Line of Succession works as well as Morf figuring out how to fight as PapillonOhger or Rita using Morf's body to fight, but I honestly don't think so because Morf's whereabout is currently unknown?!
Like Shiokara was just sneaking around N'kosopa and Sebas was who knows where when Kamejim impersonated him before he went back to being Roman Diaborn for a bit. Kuroda seems to just be snooping around like Shiokara from what the previews are showing so he's most likely spying for Kaguragi.
Morf is probably hiding somewhere in Gokkan or on Chikyuu (or taken hostage by Goma) so I'm not sure how bodyswapping them would work unless Goma does it in real time where the two are right next to each other or something.
Haven't really seen anything from Kid Rita who seems to be working on another project so I dunno if Kid Rita will appear again whether it's a flashback or Rita turning into a kid (if a ninja technique can switch bodies, there's a ninja technique for everything in toku).
Also the weird thing was that the recent Cast Blog entry where the merchant said something fluffy helped him before he passed out before waking up at the base of the mountain he was climbing.
Something fluffy...
...I dunno. Just suspicious.
Let's see what happens when the preview drops. (If it is a RitaMorf switch, that RitaMorf artist on Twitter was right. If it's Rita being forced to show emotions, I will scream into the heavens. Same if it's Kid Rita.)
