About the film:

Legend has it that if a human man falls in love with a mermaid she will grow legs; legs that will, if she so desires, carry her far away from the very man she cast her watery spell upon… But what becomes of the human man, when her spell remains but she is gone?  

The Muse is a new visually-­‐stunning narrative short film starring Ben Whishaw (Spectre, Paddington,  Lilting)  and  model  Kristen  McMenamy,  directed  by  world-­‐renowned  photographer Tim Walker and produced by Oscar-­‐winner Mia Bays.  The film was backed by We Are Colony, BBC Films, W Magazine, Vionnet and Pulse Films.  

“The Muse is about obsession, and how the 'obsessed' can often lose sight of the very thing that dominates their thoughts and feelings. Our central character is guilty of this in our story and the price he pays is a heavy one…”, says writer Simone Glover. The Muse is the story of Edward Dunstan (Ben Whishaw), a photographer and filmmaker obsessed by his muse (Kristen McMenamy). Blinded by his all-­‐consuming passion and perfectionism, he was unable to see her as she was and so, she has left him. Only now he understands what she endured, there is nothing left for him but to become both artist and muse…”
