"Alguns níveis de idiotice são simplesmente de tirar o fôlego."
Kinjirou
Kinjirou Sakamachi (Mayo Chiki!)
I believe I have already done a review of the Mayo Chiki! Anime, but I decided to do a character summary/review of Kinjirou Sakamachi.
The main character of Mayo Chiki! and the center of the harem. All us guys wish we could be in his place--surrounded by girls who love you in one way or another and who are all willing to do pretty much whatever you want. There is one problem however, Kinjirou has gynophobia. His nose bleeds when a girl just touches him. Kind of puts a damper on things, doesn't it? The gynophobia is explained as being a reflex that developed to keep his mom and sister from beating him up, thinking that they would stop so his blood didn't ruin the carpet.
Set on curing him from this terrible problem, the ever conniving Kanade commits to curing Kinjirou of his gynophobia through some borderline sexual procedures. To raise the harem stakes, Kanada brings her butler, Subaru into the picture and the two get to work on a very reluctant Kinjirou. These were some of the best moments with Kinirou as it was quite entertaining to see him try to explain a situation that Kanade made look much more suggestive than it really was.
Kinjirou is also one of the most clueless guys I have ever seen in anime. The guy can't take a hint. Konoe Subaru hinted many times that she loved Kinjirou but it went right over his head. He's not necessarily insensitive, he just does not pick up on hints very well.
One of my favourite moments when Kinjirou's loving personality really stood out was when his sister, Kureha, thought he forgot her birthday. A flashback is shown of another time Kinjirou forgot his sister's birthday and he saw how hurt she was. Through this, we get a glimpse of how important Kureha's birthday is to her. As it turns out, he didn't forget his sister's birthday and had a big stuffed bear waiting for her at home. A touching family moment *sniff* (darn allergies).
There were a few characters I connected with and felt for, my favourite being Kinjirou. Many times you can't help but feel sorry for the guy. He's constantly being violated and blackmailed by Kanade, he's hated by a large club of Subaru fans, and he's always having girl problems. His life is a big mess. Kinjirou is a solid character with a lot of personality and he has his moments when he does something good to help someone else.
