The rope kink one was mine. For more clarification I'm sort of thinking like the artsy sort of rope tying. Like still in the bdsm realm but getting tied up with designs and different colored ropes and things like that.

I’m not too familiar with this, and I don’t know that I’ve read this much.  I can think of one Drarry story in particular I read  (I can’t recall the name but Harry likes to be tied up and I think it started in a non-sexual way like just a release for Harry..that reminds me of this but I read it ages ago and don’t remember much)

Anyway I’d probably say kinkmaybe.  I’m open to it.

*slowly clapping hands* !!! I. agree. with. every. single. word !!! Harry had to hold on the world for so long and so hard even tho he didn't want to but still he had to grasped the borders of reality hold on them and sometimes his hands and fingers burnt so bad but there was no time for him and no one *trully* acknowledged his effort so when someone comes and tell him he can let go and get lost in himself and in Draco and in them it just means so much for him. ah I have to go re-read your fic

Like ok to be fair I can definitely see either one of them having a praise kink. But for me personally I only read it and write it for Harry because to me it makes more sense.

I just imagine Harry as someone who has never felt worthy or good enough or wanted. And then he had all this celebrity forced upon him but none of it was real. It wasn’t for anything HE did.

And then even after the war he gets all this praise but it feels false because these people don’t know him and they’re praising him for things he didn’t do alone. He had help. He was not the only one responsible for the end of the war and so it feels meaningless.

But then there’s Draco, and Draco just knows what he wants and needs.

And just imagine the way Harry feels the first time Draco hugs him from behind while Harry is cooking one night whispering “You’re such a good boyfriend, Harry.” And he has no idea why Harry nearly drops the spoon he’s holding and shudders.

Because from then on Draco makes sure to praise him in and out of the bedroom (but lets be honest he knows when it’s out of the bedroom that will lead them back there.)

And so when Draco praises him it shakes him to the core because it’s real and it’s everything he’s ever wanted and needed.

Exa-ctly! U've pointed out the feelings so well! Bc in the fics I've read so far was usually they praise Harry's on his look and like yeah ok it's nice to hear u r pretty but I think that in Harry's case (and tbh in Draco's as well) it's so much deeper much more complex with their past. It's about the feeling that he starts to trusts Draco so much that he'll give himself in and for the first time recieves instead of gives and u've captured it *perfectly* (btw thx for the rec I'll check it <3)

Yes I couldn’t agree more! I mean I can see a few scenarios were, given his trust of Draco, he would take pleasure in Draco praising his looks just because he would love to know how much Draco wants him, and is turned on by him as much as he is by Draco.

But for me the most impactful aspect of praise!kink is how deeply emotional it is. I just think Draco would get as much pleasure out of it as Harry, knowing how much weight his words hold, how much Harry craves his words and approval.

And for me personally it has NOTHING to do with a power dynamic outside the bedroom because I 100% see them as still bickering and being equals in everything and Harry still giving as good as he gets. And it has NOTHING to do with who penetrates who or one of them being weaker physically or emotionally.

Praise Kink for me is about Harry not only finally submitting to someone but letting go of his feelings of worthlessness and accepting that praise . Letting Draco treasure him and care for him emotionally (so often, at least for me, this kink goes perfectly with mild D/s…but I don’t think it has to).

Just yeah…to me there is nothing hotter than a mouthy Draco who tells Harry everything he wants to do to him, likes about him, and Harry’s open heart finally letting someone else know how much he wants to be praised.

omg omg omg omg MINE TOO AND now I'm *SO* excited!!!!! Bc your good boy christmas fic is my absolutely most favourite and I've tried to find something similiar or at least as good as yours but I did not find a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g and I'm coming back to yours all the time. I have the link saved in my phone and it's so sweet and lovely and finally someonetaking care of Harry I almost cried at this part-when Draco told him that none takes care of him but now he's gonna. Oh my gosh u r the queen of it!!!

Ah gosh thank you so much! That’s actually one of my favorite fics for that reason so I can’t tell you how much it means when someone else loves it.

And yes just I’m so here for Draco being the one to finally take care of Harry, and to tell him how good he is.

Honestly I could probably write a 10,000 word essay on why I love praise!kink and feel like it makes SO much sense for Harry and Draco. And really Harry in particular because like damn yes give me Harry letting go and accepting praise and finally being told he’s good enough and worthy and getting off on it because he trusts Draco so much and the way it feels to be praised and worshiped makes him nearly weep with want.

Like yeah I’m here for ALL the praise kink fics (and if you are in want of more definitely check out Gracerene. She has some amazing ones)

But yeah I’m just glad someone else is with me on the love of this under represented kink.
