My new favorite thing for my natural hair wash days is prepooing and washing in sections. I had just recently learned about prepooing and washing in sections and chose today to try it out. This was going to be my first real wash day in three months since I've been rocking a protective style(faux locs), so I needed a quality wash. After I took my locs out, I detangled and sectioned my hair(6 sections), then with each section I added a fair amount of coconut oil and Jamaican castor oil to each section and made little twist buns. It was recommended to leave it in for 30 minutes but I'm excessive so I left it in for 3 hours. AND LET ME TELL YOU, once I got in the shower to wash my hair was so soft and tangled free as I washed each section. And since it was already sectioned it was so much easier to keep it from getting tangled and made sure every part of my hair was throughly washed. I didn't even deep conditioned but my curls were dramatically popping when I got out the shower. 10/10 would recommended. Cut my wash day struggle in half.
