I'm so glad that you answered :) I've taken so many that, I was told I'm straight, some told me I'm not, I just took one today that said I'm a 3 on the Kingsley scale and I kinda just wanted a set answer... and I just became so frustrated that I started saying, "I don't give a damn anymore! I don't need a label!" But a label makes me feel safe and it makes me feel like I'm not in a phase, that I'm not faking it but I have so much doubt that it still bothers me, but thank you so much ��

I think it’s important to know that Kinsey never actually created this test. He did a shit ton (like thousands) of interviews and on the basis of those created the scale (0-6 and x). But he never made a multiple choice quiz were people picked answers and in the end they’d be given a number.

All the tests you can find that are like that were created by other people - some a tiny bit more scientifically than others but most of them are total bollocks. You can literally find thse quizzes on buzzfeed and I doubt there went much scientific research into it before they put that online. And how accurate can it even be if you just have to answer like 6 questions? It cannot be representative of the complexity of human sexuality.

I had times when I had gotten a 3, sometimes a 2... it depends on the mood of the day and also depends on the quiz and how much focus it puts on past experiences instead of general attraction. And as we all know: sexual attraction ≠ sexual experience. You can be a virgin and still know who you’re attracted to.

So... do those quizzed if you want to procrastinate doing homework but don’t give them any more credit than they deserve because literally they are all unscientific bullshit.

So I’m exploring through the different sexual identities to see if I can find one more accurate to my orientation than lesbian or gynephilic (my current go-by labels) and I found the kinsey test, which I thought would be interesting.

I’m guessing it’s confused because I’m not into men but I’m not solely into women so it thinks obviously something went wrong here

(also if you know what I could classify my orientation as please say because I’d like a label for it if there is one)

I am a 2 on the Kinsey scale and that is exactly what I expected 😊

So I failed the Kinsey test

But I needed to know that if I changed one answer if I would get an answer. I did. So I changed the answer from false to true for the question  that asked if I was exclusively attracted to women, and I got a 6 (exclusively homosexual). But for me the answer is false, because I am sexually and romantically attracted to women, but I am also romantically attracted to men.
