I stopped by Tokutarou to eat Kintsuba Cake(^o^) There was a bench in the shop, so I could eat to sit there (^o^) It’s grate that we can buy it individually even if it's just one (^o^)

Day 10: Wagashi 和菓子 upon Wagashi 和菓子 in Kanazawa ~ Today started off with yet another queue. This time for an eatery in the Omicho market called ichibanzushi, where I had my last fill of fresh fish for the trip, and got to taste Kanazawa’s famous blackthroat fish のど黒! (It was definitely worth the wait 🤤) I also find it interesting how sushi restaurants tend to have self-serve powdered green tea, but you don’t find this in any other kinds of Japanese restaurants. Does anyone know why?🍵🐟 ~ I stumbled across a school choir performance during a stroll around the city. I’m guessing they were performing as part of the children’s day celebrations - children’s day is officially tomorrow in Japan. Traditionally, koi flags are hung as a symbol of bravery as koi swim against the flow of rivers 🎏 ~ I finally had a chance to try sit down in a garden facing teahouse, and try some raw wagashi 上生和菓子 with matcha. This sweet was made of red and white beans, sculpted into the shape of a little bush. It really was a work of art! I also love how the wagashi matched the flowers in the garden. The whole experience was so soothing and relaxing 🌱 ~ I made one final stop to the Higashi Chaya district to pick up some souvenirs (and sample some myself to help me decide of course!). In the end I decided on the local speciality Kintsuba 金つば.
