Why do they have their resources? How long have they had them, and how have they served the character over time? (Ex. Contacts, money, political power, fame, etc.)

Ohh this is a big one. Resources are extremely important to pureblood vampires. Her main resource is MONEY. Saving money has helped her to always have a place to live, food to eat, and whatever her heart so desires without having to rely on last minute jobs for a paycheck. This is important because with hunters constantly on the prowl, and other such nuisances for Kira, she can’t always stick around long enough to get her paycheck before having to flee. So having backup cash is great. Contacts are a bit on and off for her. She trusts very few and keeps her circle extremely small in order to protect herself and those in her life. Every time she got close enough to anyone, they would end up murdered, and that has scarred her and kept her from attempting any lasting connections. Then there is also the fact that humans have shorter lifespans and thus break her heart when they die, which is a problem because she feels a lot deeper than humans and takes it harder than she should. Work contacts have always been necessary, and so she has kept shallow connections with anyone who could possibly be of use in the future. Anyone who finds out her secret (she’s a vampire) and is not of any use to her ends up dead. Self preservation has been her mantra for as long as she could remember, and often times she takes that to extremes.

Day 5:

Resources and abilities: Where did they learn their abilities? After being shipwrecked, she was picked up by a group of ninja who forced her to join the clan, the alternative being death since she washed up on their shores and knew the location of their hidden village. She was rigorously trained, her healing ability making her training all the more painful as she was forced to continue even through the breaking of bones or other severe injuries that did not kill her. She learned pain tolerance through the torture she was put through daily. She picked up mimicry and stealth, as well as the advantages of seduction from the kunoichi of the village whom were actually better at their jobs than the shinobi.

If they have an income, where does it come from? Her income comes from property she owns and rents out, or antiques that she has stored and then sells. Being 800 years old definitely has perks when it comes to the “antique” business, and it just so happens she was smart enough to pick up plenty of art and other such trinkets to hold onto for just such future opportunities.

Do they have a job? Do they like it? How do they feel about their co-workers? She no longer works as a ninja/assassin, though occasionally she’ll miss the action and find jobs similar to her line of “work.” She prefers to work alone as co-workers tend to slow her down, with exception of a few of her shinobi friends whom she can work with flawlessly. While gruesome, she does indeed like her work; the more difficult the mission the better, anything for that familiar rush. —-As a sidenote, she has held many different jobs in the various universes she’s in, in addition to everything that comes with being a ninja(undercover agent), which is a lot more than you’d think. When she gets bored, she gets work, and her jobs have ranged from barista to stripper. She’s willing to try anything, within reason, once. If she doesn’t like it or gets bored, she leaves. No notice. Just disappears.

Favorites and habits:

What are some of your character’s hobbies? What do they do with their time? Kira loves to spoil her man, mostly. From lovin’ on him, to cutting hair, to cleaning each other up, to cooking with each other, or just enjoying a cup of coffee at the kitchen table or down the street at the café, her main hobby is the love of her life. Aside from that, she’ll paint, read, watch television, or work out. She loves a good fight, or spar fights. The bloodier the better, which makes a lot of people squeamish about what she considers “fun”.

Favorite color? Sapphire blue. Of all the shinies she loves, sapphires are her favorites because of her love of the color blue.

Favorite music artists? Movies or TV shows? Books or authors? Actors? She’s not completely “with the times” in this sort of thing, though she adores Sherlock and anything to do with Sherlock Holmes.

Political stance? Are they active in politics or do they not care? She stopped caring after the Warring States Era of Japan. Once she lost the battle and Ieyasu Tokugawa became Shogun, she just stopped trying to influence the politics of humans.

What are some of their pet peeves? People who use lots of perfume or cologne, and also excessive use of air fresheners, scented candles, or potpourris in a house. Mostly because she has a very sensitive nose and could easily feel sick from it. She also hates when people fidget too much around her.

What sort of gifts do they like? Anything that has effort put into it is good for her. She doesn’t care if it’s a plain ol’ rock, as long as the gifter has a good reason for giving her a rock. xD

What is their favorite time of day? Favorite weather? Season? Clear night with a full moon, hands down. Favorite weather would be springtime or autumn when the weather is even, though she does love a good snowfall—just can’t physically stay in it long. Favorite season is winter. She loves bundling up and getting cozy inside.

Where do they like to spend their time? With good company. It doesn’t matter where, she just likes to be with people she enjoys spending time with. Outside, inside, shopping, hiking, travelling, anything really. Just as long as she’s in good company.

Favorite food? Favorite drink? Hot drinks, soft drinks, or alcohol? She loves sushi but has recently developed a taste for French cuisine~ Her favorite drink will always be tea, because there’s always a different kind to try and it’s really an art. She’s not too into soft drinks. Alcohol-wise, she loves pretty drinks just as much as she loves whiskey and scotch. Wine from a pureblood friend of hers is pretty much the easiest thing for her to get drunk on though.

Favorite animal? Cats and foxes. Though for the most part, animals don’t really like her even when she loves them 3 They get nervous because she’s a predator.

Do they have any pets? Do they want any? She’s had a supernatural crow, a ninja cat, and a spirit fox. She doesn’t have any desire for any pets at the moment.

What relaxes them? Hot baths or hot spring dips. Instant relax. Also just sitting around and relaxing with her boo helps her to chill.

Do they have any bad habits? She’s possessive, overprotective, can be slightly demanding, high maintenance in the attention department, and she can get restless fairly easily if her interest isn’t held.

Most In-Depth 30 Day Character Development Meme DAY 3

Day 3:

Choose a different time period and describe what your character would have been like in that time period.

It’s difficult to stick her in another time period since she’s been around from the late 1100’s to the present…would probably work better if I stuck her in a different PLACE but……hm.

Had Kira been born in modern times (as in the present), she might be even more dangerous than she is now. With access to the power of technology she would have several more convenient ways of taking care of her targets, as I don’t see her not being an assassin of some sort for most of the first part of her life. It’s basically molded the person she’s become, personality wise, physically, and mentally. I think she would be more fashion forward and self-conscious, due to the constant bombardment of the “ideal self-image” and the societal pressure on women to be a certain way. In combination with her issue about her species, I feel that could definitely be a dangerous mixture.

Eventually I think she would want to get out of “the business” and that would spur her to live on the run, but then she would find someone lovely to settle with and find a higher purpose for her life. Deep down that’s all she really wants: to be a wife, mother, and functional member of a true family.

Aside from above, I don’t honestly think she would change all that much. Kira has been pretty consistent since she’s been the “lone wolf” type and not easily influenced by others. No matter what time period she’d still be stubborn as a mule; ignorant about things she doesn’t have an interest in, trained in the martial arts/swordplay, hateful of the very being she is, but an adorable softie at heart that just wants love and affection.
