It’s been on my bucket list to join a MAP project, and I heard about the awesome opportunity to not only join a MAP, but a Kirby Reanimated MAP! As a kid I loved Kirby - the video games and the anime - and was excited for the opportunity to join in! What I have here is close to the final draft, along with some of the earlier versions of the video to show my progress.
So the character I’m working with is the NME Salesman, who was pretty challenging to draw! My version looks a bit younger I think, at least right now without shadows.
Notably, I started off with him poking his finger at the screen originally, but decided later that I wanted to keep him holding the abicus like in the original shot, and do something silly like shave his legs or pick his nose - the picking his nose seemed more do-able with the type and length of the shot.
The last things I want to add are some tweaks to the abicus, shadows on the salesguy, a goober on his finger that he flicks off, mess around with the background a bit more and add some lines on his face to age him up a bit.
