Just ramblings about the dynamics of them being romantically involved. I think I wrote most of this three years ago lol
This is also somewhat of an extension of the ‘type of girls’ post I did.
Hanamiya
The slow-burn of the ages
It’ll take awhile before Hanamiya will fully accept/embrace a romantic relationship, even while he is technically in one.
A consequence of lying so much and putting up the false pretense of a nice guy is that he can’t make heads or tails of how he truly feels or how to express it genuinely.
Because what does being “genuine” even mean?
He’s bad at ‘freshness’ apparently, which partially means being open and authentic in communication and emotionally.
Or even if he knows he does like someone, it’ll take a lot for him to spit that out.
It’d be a relationship that “vaguely” exists. Where one would always question “I am dating this guy right???” or if they can officially refer to Hanamiya as their partner.
He wouldn’t be open with it and would treat his partner as if they were still just peers, in public anyway.
His partner would have to be the one to initiate any physical touch, such as hand holding.
Further down the relationship, he’d be more accustomed to it, particularly enjoying pinching his partner’s cheek and tugging it, even though this could hurt at times.
I still subscribe to the idea that his type being a “stupid girl” partly means that one would have to be very stupid to want to be with him, despite everything.
And I think that’s why at the early stages, he really doesn’t take the relationship seriously, cause he figures the person will just leave at some point. After all, he’s not one to let new people that close into his life often.
He’ll even do things that would make the average person call it quits, unintentionally or otherwise, almost like a defense mechanism to not let them get too close to him.
And then he’s like “???” when they still choose to be with him.
It would also get incredibly annoying when it gets to a point where the person can read him ‘almost’ like a book, and can tell when Hanamiya is showing his bizarre ways of being affectionate. His insults just end up falling flat, they almost get the “Kiyoshi” reaction.
Furuhashi
For his first relationship, just like joining the basketball team, it just sort of happened.
At the beginning he’s all “You’re old enough to take care of yourself”, especially when it’s one of the first relationships he’s been in. Not keen on the idea of “babying” his partner(the way he sees it) like walking them home or holding their stuff.
Furuhashi becomes more protective and caring further down the relationship.
He didn’t really understand relationships, but as he spends more time with them, he finally gets it.
He also thought he wouldn’t be the jealous type, but is proven wrong eventually. As I said in another post, Furuhashi is the type to have to actually be impacted by something to care about it, and not just hypotheticals.
When I was first writing this years ago, I was thinking about the perilla leaf debate(look it up) and how the boys would feel about it (it was going to be its own post but I didn’t get far with it.)
For Furuhashi, I can see him initially thinking “I wouldn’t care, its just a vegetable”
But once he’s actually in the situation, he now understands why one would have an issue with it. And it honestly frustrates him that this bothers him.
Expresses his feelings mainly through touch and silent gestures. Big on extensive hand holding because of how simple and yet effective it is.
Also big on gently running the back of his knuckles against his partner’s cheek, silently taking in their beauty.
Almost like how one would gently caress a flower.
Initially isn’t too gentle with his partner, but learns to treat them with a similar delicacy as he would his flowers.
“I’m the only one allowed to hurt them” kind of thing.
As I stated in the "type of girls" post, his type being a masochist partly means that his ideal partner would love him as he is. Both for his sadistic tendencies and his eyes.
He isn’t that self conscious about his eyes, but he’s aware that they can be off putting.
And initially, he doesn’t really care if his partner felt the need to tell him how much they love his eyes and how “cool” they are, cause it just seemed like unneeded pity to boost one’s ego (like “oh what a good person I am for complimenting this person’s eyes that they clearly must be insecure about”).
But he does eventually get some comfort from it, even if just subconsciously.
More observant than he lets on. They think he doesn’t pay attention to them or the interests they talk about, and maybe assume he forgot it was their birthday or their anniversary, given that his responses are very succinct.
But surprise, he remembers and will get them a curated gift with their interests in mind, along with the usual homemade bread.
Kind of related, and something he keeps internal, but he discovers he enjoys when his partner’s eyes light up in surprise or joy. And he’ll subtly (or sometimes not so subtly) do things just to get that reaction from them.
Eventually, he would remember his partner’s medicine schedule and he would be very stubborn about them taking their meds timely.
Enjoys those times where he and his partner can just co-exist in the same room, doing separate things, without feeling the need to fill the dead space with chatter. Just being together can be enough.
Hara
Initially not the type to be tied down to one partner and had a bunch of “no-strings attached” flings, sometimes multiple at a time, so it’s a surprise to him when he eventually finds someone he wants to be not only monogamous with, but also romantically involved.
He’s openly affectionate but has trouble being genuine with his feelings or expressing them.
He could really genuinely love someone but he can’t say it straight.
He masks this with being handsy or saying off-putting stuff or overly-cheesy pick-up lines that he totally didn’t look up online.
Gives great hugs, and loves to give them from behind especially.
Can, at times, act like a bit of a spoiled princess. He exaggerates any sort of “pain” or injury he may experience (like a paper cut), to try to get his partner to comfort him and take care of it.
I unfortunately do get “weaponized incompetence” vibes from him, but he’ll grow out of it…maybe. Think if this resulted in a possible break up, he would change…eventually.
Kind of tangential, Hara would sometimes hustle and convince his partner to make a bet with him on something (maybe beating a game for example), only to then destroy them, loving seeing that surprised reaction after he was underestimated.
It can also be difficult to tie him down and have any sort of serious talks or communication (which is obviously essential for relationships), and it’ll take a few tries and jokes before Hara finally takes his partner seriously.
He's still in HS after all, but he'll have to learn eventually that he has to mature up if he's serious about someone.
Yamazaki
He has anger issues but would never ever take it out on his partner. I think he is actually very good at bring it down a level when he’s with his partner so it's never really a risk.
Assuming he is with his type (cheerful girl), it's one of the few times where he can lose some tension.
Just seeing a bright smile is enough to disarm him.
Especially seeing that happy expression on their face when they see him, as they run up to him for a hug. He’s still shocked that that’s their reaction to seeing him.
He’s the type that would just completely melt with his partner. Big on laying on their lap, as they run their fingers through his hair. And if it’s at the nape of the neck?? He’s gone, he’s ascended.
Has insecurities with wanting to appear “tough” in front of his friends/team. So he’s not one to be openly affectionate in front of them.
Never mind the fact that Yamazaki was too oblivious to notice that the team had already “caught” him being really sweet with his partner a few times, since he’s not that great at concealing it.
I can see this being a point of conflict, where maybe the team insults his partner, and he’s too insecure to stand up for them. But eventually, he will defend them to death.
Can also feel the need to be seen as tough with his partner. Cue letting his partner have the umbrella when it’s raining, insisting that he doesn't need to share, or insisting his partner have his coat when it's cold, even if this leads to him getting sick.
But hey, this means his partner taking care of him through it, so it’d be worth it.
He can be forgetful of things and as a result would forget their birthday or anniversary, but he would feel regretful and do his best to make it up to them.
This is related, but throwback to this post, which I still think is quintessential Yamazaki being in a romantic relationship lol
Seto
Very chill and it starts off slow and it initially feels like a romantic relationship in name only.
Wouldn’t really initiate anything at first. Seto would let their partner decide the plans, and he just goes along with it, kind of just doing the bare minimum.
Eventually has to learn that he needs to do more than just show up.
His partner would deal with his bouts of sleep, and they think he forgot about dates they have planned and think he would oversleep, and they're surprised with how punctual he is.
He prefers staying at home and chilling, especially when they lead to thoughtful conversations. Even though he enjoys contributing to the conversation, he discovers that he also enjoys just listening to them talk.
In fact, this can lead to unintentional late nights, where he and his partner are just talking for hours. And he’s not ashamed to admit it when asked why he’s sleepier than usual the next day.
Initially preferred the solitude of his walks (and he will still need his alone walks at times), but having his partner join him is a surprising added bonus for him.
Speaking of added bonus, even though he can fall asleep with ease, he wouldn’t argue against lying on his partner’s lap, while they run their fingers through his hair. His partner’s touch lingering on the mole on his forehead doesn’t escape him.
He’s a good person to vent to, as he will make his partner reevaluate the points they made in an objective matter, and deescalate stress.
He will though also not mince words and won’t provide false platitudes, if a situation was really bad and there was no fixing it.
Overall, he usually takes a “it is what it is” stance(Obviously this is dependent on the situation), in the sense that what’s done is done, and the only thing they can do is move on and he will point out things they can do in the future.
And of course he would not subtly suggest taking a nap with him to take their mind off of things.
How'd you think kiridai, haizaki, imayoshi, nash and jason would use insta? (I know it isn't popular in Japan but still)
Hanamiya Makoto
his account used to be public but he made it private after getting fed up of having to delete comments like “you scumbag you broke my friend’s ribs rot in hell” from his posts which were just cute pictures of the kiridai cat (yes i’m bringing this ancient headcanon back)
so now he only allows follows from people he knows and trusts which means literally just the kiridai team, imayoshi, maybe a couple classmates, and his mum
and then within that circle, he has the other kiridai boys on his close friends list and they’re the ones who see the stories that ‘reveal his true nature’
like hanamiya sees that someone who played against him has made a post about their journey going through shoulder rehab (no guessing who gave them their shoulder issues), so he reposts that post to his close friends story with the caption “time for a round two?”
meanwhile the posts his mum sees are just pictures of the kiridai cat or pages from some books he’s been reading recently
(n.b. hanamiya’s mum very rarely uses instagram. she only uses the account to keep up with family members, and only made it in the first place because hanamiya had just made his and she wanted to make sure he didn’t get cyberbullied.
meanwhile her son is the one who has been repeatedly suspended from instagram for bullying.)
Hara Kazuya
has a lot of accounts and if not for the fact that he has basketball and other hobbies he would be chronically online
so there’s one main account which has just a couple photos that make him look cool (a photo of him dunking, or him drumming with good lighting) and occasionally he’ll post a picture on his stories of the city under a dawn sky and a note of the time so everyone knows he’s out grinding streetball at stupid o’clock.
the main account is his only public account and he only really has it so that, if anyone (family friends, basketball players from other schools) search him up, those curated posts are all they’ll see. he only posts that occasional story in order to see if anyone’s been stalking him.
then there’s the finsta which is what he’s most active on. he posts several times a week on this account and the posts are all either 1) shitposts and memes that make little to no sense, 2) pictures of fellow kiridai members at very bad angles, or 3) photos from matches that he wants to mock, like a picture of kiyoshi’s face in agony as his knee got broken with the caption “tfw tanaka-sensei sets a pop quiz.”
and finally hara has his assortment of troll accounts, most of which he uses to pretend to be a high school girl living in the general Tokyo area so that he can catfish classmates when he’s bored.
hara has so many of these accounts that he’s created a cinematic universe of his own with elaborate storylines about the tumultuous friendships between these non-existent girls. they’ve become kiridai’s answer to d&d whenever the boys are bored.
plus these catfish accounts have now become strategic. several of the ‘girls’ are in talking stages, and even online relationships with, basketball players from other schools. this means that a) hara can get intel from the players and b) as soon as any important match comes around, he breaks up with/ghosts the guy, in the hope that it’ll make them place worse.
it goes without saying that it was hanamiya who invented this innovative technique of psychological warfare but hara’s the one who puts the hours in - to the point where it would be a little suspicious how well he can pretend to be a teen girl in love if not for the shit-eating grin on his face whenever he goes through his collection of screenshots of messages begging “her” to take them back
(sidenote - can you imagine how well okamura would fall for this?)
(i’m thinking of a yandere!okamura x catfish!hara fic…)
Furuhashi Kojiro
has two Instagram accounts
account number one is the one his teammates/family/friends follow. it’s a private account that he doesn’t use very much apart from liking friends’ posts. he has a few photos on there, but mostly photos of scenery from holidays
account number two is public, with around 10k followers. it’s completely anonymous and no one irl knows he has it. this account posts quite regularly and every post is an aesthetic picture either of his plants or what he’s baked recently. and when i say aesthetic, i mean aesthetic: the perfect warm lighting and usually some berries or something framing the centrepiece of the photo.
the captions are usually quite short and wholesome: “making melonpan can be difficult but i find the challenge refreshing” “when the days become stressful, i turn to these larch bonsai to remind myself to stand tall” “i am trying a new macaroon recipe. may it bring great riches.”
he’s also started posting some reels on this account, mostly timelapses of bread rising or plants growing etc
furu uses very few hashtags but somehow still gets super high engagement. his followers adore him and have collectively assumed he’s a fem lesbian living in the countryside somewhere with her beloved girlfriend. (furuhashi naturally never corrects anyone because he wants to keep it anonymous.) the comments are all “cottagecore queen” “i owe all my mental health to you” “the only unproblematic account on Instagram”
so yeah, on instagram, furu is considered an angel
Jason Silver
this man has not posted a single photo where he is not shirtless
and his stories are like 30% videos from streetball practice and 70% thirst traps which he pretends he’s posting to show his gains... but everyone knows he’s just posting them to try attract the three women who followed him back
his following is around 50% ‘baddies’, 45% nba players, and 5% friends and a few streetballers that he’s played against before
(he follows very few streetballers because he thinks it’s beneath him to follow losers and see how they’re improving. he’s so good at basketball he has no need for that, duh.)
(in reality he has no need to stalk prospective opponents because nash does it for him.)
also actually headcanon that most of jason’s posts are videos of him breaking the hoop while dunking or just generally basketball action shots, because jason can’t pose in front of a camera to save his life
you can’t blame him really - that’s a lot of man to fit in one small lens
Haizaki Shougo
no profile photo, no posts: 100% anonymous account. man just uses his Instagram account to get material to jerk off too - pretty much every single account he follows is of an onlyfans model. (he would still be following some female classmates and kise’s ex girlfriend if not for the fact that they’ve all blocked him.)
in the end, haizaki has no friends to interact with and no aesthetic life he can post about, so why would be bother having a more social instagram
added bonus of the anonymous account is that he can use it to stalk others - and he does like his stalking.
sometimes he stalks the gom’s accounts, and he tells himself it’s just to make fun of them being desperate for likes or looking pretentious, but really he gets a “what could have been” feeling from scrolling through all the photos (and it hurts -- especially seeing videos of them playing together like back in middle school.)
and sometimes haizaki stalks his fukuda sogo teammates. again, he tells himself it’s just to mock them, and he’ll see photos of them hanging out together and be like “what fucking losers who would want to be seen with them.” but there’s a little pang of loneliness in his heart all the same.
Yamazaki Hiroshi
has had the same instagram account since he was 10 and he never deletes or archives any posts so if you scroll far down enough, you’ll find videos of pre-pubescent him and hara doing ‘parkour’ (literally just jumping over benches and off swings) or those chain posts like “share this with five friends or you’ll be haunted forever.)
zaki’s is a private account with a couple hundred followers - his teammates obviously but also family, cousins, some classmates, some of hara’s catfish accounts, and even a couple fellow high school basketballers from distant enough teams that they somehow haven’t realised that zaki is a member of the infamous kiridai.
he posts semi-regularly and mostly just very normal, mundane posts - photos from family holidays, a tasty udon noodle bowl he had the other day and maybe the occasional streetball photo (typically with one of the kiridai boys in the frame instead of zaki – zaki’s not a huge fan of photos of himself)
zaki’s feed is mostly hara’s shitposts and also streaming clips from his various video games, and if you do ever see his account in the ‘wild’, it will be him backing up hara’s finsta after hara made a particularly outrageous comment somewhere
because a real friendship takes two people: Person 1 who just stirs shit up, and Person 2 who defends Person 2’s shit-stirring by cursing out every commenter who criticises them
Hanamiya didn’t bother with introductions, instead, he showed you around the club room and then the gymnasium. The guys were scattered around, some were warming up while others rested on the benches. One was even lying on the bench with a mask over his eyes in full slumber.
Your entrance brought them to a standstill, but Hanamiya paid them no attention.
“There’s a teacher in charge of overseeing us, but he never comes around. We just fill out the form weekly to notify our use of the gym and expenses when necessary for games or training camps.”
Everything seemed simple enough, but you wondered who exactly was Hanamiya Makoto? He was obviously someone influential if the school had allowed him to coach the team himself. It was similar to the deal you had been offered the other day.
“Like I mentioned before, you don’t have to know about basketball but I’ll teach you when necessary.”
You nodded.
“Any questions?”
"Do I have to decide now?” You looked around while adjusting your bag over your shoulder. It seemed the team was smaller than usual which made it ideal, but you weren’t too sure this was a good idea. Masquerading as an alpha could be easier if you kept other alphas close and your intuition was telling you Hanamiya was just that.
"Yes, unless you want to waste your time teaching opportunistic idiots to play a sport they aren’t remotely interested in and therefore will forever remain mediocre at best.”
That’s when you realized he had overheard your conversation. He knew exactly what you had been thinking too. You sighed, “I don’t want that...”
“Then welcome to the team.” With these words, Hanamiya called the others over.
You were only slightly intimidated by the group of guys that nearly towered over you with their height. Had this been back in middle school you would think nothing of them.
“So, we got a manager after all…” Yamazaki teased Hanamiya for doing something he had previously opposed. He would have gone on to further his point if it weren’t for Furuhashi jabbing his elbow into his gut to stop him from pissing off Hanamiya.
“A cute one too,” Hara seized his bubble blowing to smile at you. He appreciated your choice to opt out of wearing any stockings or knee-high socks. Like this, your legs were perfectly on display.
Although his eyes weren’t visible you caught his line of sight lowering more than needed to meet your eyes. But guys like him who openly flirted with such nonchalance were best ignored so you did nothing but greet them all.
“Hello, I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you.” Your family name was always omitted from your greetings to discourage being associated with them. Unfortunately, most already knew you thanks to your brother’s slip of the tongue just before your high school entrance. He had revealed the school you would be attending in an interview when he was asked about you.
“Seto and Hara are both in our class,” Hanamiya pointed out in hopes of keeping introductions short. “Furuhashi and Yamazaki, are the other two.”
“Hello,” you repeated your greeting to the two you had never seen before.
Hanamiya handed you the clipboard he had been holding. The first paper on top was a club form that stated you would be entering the basketball team as manager. “Fill it out and take it to the administrative office.”
It was nearly complete, except for your name and signature. Presumably by Hanamiya himself.
“You can go home for today.”
And just like that, a whirlwind decision changed the course of your desired school life.
After several days of practice, you managed to learn their names and positions. It was unintentional but you somehow managed to learn a lot about the game just by watching. The rest were tidbits of information Hanamiya threw at you.
For the most part, you helped with the paperwork, equipment maintenance, and taking notes on the practices.
As it turned out Kirisaki Daiichi was a school known for its basketball team. It was a strong competitor in the region and the country. Despite not being an all-alpha high school it seemed to always recruit an all-alpha team. This year it was no different.
It also explained why you had been chosen as manager.
Soon you were spending so much time around them that others misjudged your relationship.
One particularly annoying misjudgment was made by those interested in the alphas. Among them was a socially adept girl named Yua who, unbeknownst to you, had a past with Hanamiya.
As an omega, she knew her boundaries and hid her animosity to keep her image of superiority over the rest of the first-year omegas.
That is until a few months later.
You had finally fallen into a comfortable routine.
Official games were due to start soon which meant you were finally going to see them in action. Before that Hanamiya had you set up a few practice games. This required you to spend more time together.
Hanamiya was getting tired of having to wait until after or between classes to talk to you so he decided to make some changes.
You came into class to find your seat at the front of the class occupied by someone else. Just as you were about to confront her, she beat you to it.
“You think you’re better than us and look down on us...” The girl was so upset she voiced the narrative she had chosen to push now that you somehow managed to take her spot. “I don’t know what you did to Hanamiya-san you-” She bit her tongue remembering what he had told her.
You looked up and over to the back where a single empty seat was left in front of the previously mentioned dark-haired individual. A smirk blatantly adorned his face as he awaited you.
To stop the scene from escalating further you quietly accepted the seat change for now. Multiple pairs of eyes followed your every move as you sat down.
Your new seat was now in front of Hanamiya while Seto slept comfortably to his left and Hara sat in front of Seto. They all sat together in the far corner where they often did as they liked with little to no consequence.
As soon as you settled into the seat you turned around to question Hanamiya.
“Is there a reason for this sudden seat change?”
“We just wanted our manager to feel closer to the team,” Hara commented after popping his bubblegum a few times.
"It’s more convenient this way.”
“I see...” You turned back around indifferent to where you sat.
A sentiment Yua did not share.
From then on you found yourself merging into their group. It seemed easier to go along with them than contest their behavior. For the most part, they never bothered you although Hara did annoy you from time to time with his sexual comments or when they collectively got around to recounting their sexual exploits.
That’s when you would tune out and go off on your own or look for the golf enthusiast who was slowly inching her way into your life.
All in all, it seemed everything was going well in your school life.
By the time you realized what kind of guys they were, it was too late to turn back. Your name had become synonymous with the team.
\\\
After attending their first official game you were left stunned by their methods.
Outside the gymnasium, you stood off to the side watching Hara’s victim getting loaded into the back of an ambulance. The guy seemed much better now that they had administered some first aid, but you still recalled the way his groans of pain echoed through the gymnasium as he curled up on the shiny floors.
The other school’s staff held back from voicing their complaints when they saw you. It was yet another instance of your name precedes you. Instead, they silently filled out the paperwork required in times like these and handed you a copy.
The other players were a different story. They openly directed their pointed looks towards you. A few muttered their discontent out of earshot.
You bid them a safe trip back as you always did back when you were playing tennis. It was good sportsmanship overall, but you did it recalling the lessons your mother ingrained in you about her ideal image for you of a gracious winner.
Once they were all gone you heard someone approaching you. “What did you think of your first official game as our manager?”
You looked over your shoulder to see Hanamiya. He handed you your bag in exchange for the clipboard in your hands.
He glanced at the paperwork momentarily. His actual goal was to examine your reaction, a reaction that he had guessed yet awaited your response. It was pleasant to see everything turn out the way he had predicted. With you as their manager, they could get away with much more.
Truthfully you didn’t condone cheating or violence.
“An elbow to the ribs...” you trailed off recalling how the other team immediately called out the foul. At the time Seto had slipped his mask up momentarily to explain to you that the others were blocking the referee’s view so it would go unnoticed.
They had only tested this out about twice before, in practice games before you had joined as their manager. It was Hanamiya’s way of breaking the opposing team, something he found much more entertaining than winning the game.
Perhaps the fact that you had been lying about yourself had shifted your moral compass to the point where you no longer found yourself able to judge others.
“You could have won without that.”
“Easily,” Hanamiya responded, confirming your thoughts. “But,” he added. A smirk plastered on his face now that your eyes met his. “It wouldn’t have been as entertaining.”
Your lukewarm response was just as he had imagined. The day he happened upon your conversation in the hall he knew there was something familiar about you. It would take some time to draw it out, but he was sure you had the potential to resonate with him.
From then on, you dealt with Kirisaki Daiichi’s reputation, the one Hanamiya had carefully cultivated.
Kirisaki Daiichi began garnering the attention and social acknowledgment it had wanted. Because an alpha of your caliber attended the mixed school so proudly, higher society began to consider it a diamond in the rough that only your family had seen potential in.
As the proud captain brought you along to all practices and games. You were a sort of status symbol to Hanamiya Makoto, a bastard son of an important political figure. His mother, an omega, was the mistress who seduced a married man. There was little to no hope of him inheriting anything from his father although he was given the family name and enough money to live a comfortable life.
However, Hanamiya was not one to be satisfied with the bare minimum. He always wanted more than what life had dealt him. His eyes were always searching for opportunities just like the day of the entrance ceremony.
It was rare for someone of your caliber to enter a mixed school rather than the all-alpha high schools that were popular among your level of society.
Social status could be his if he played his cards right, so he began his greatest play yet.
\\\
Before you knew it the season had come to an end. Kirisaki Daiichi had made it to the Interhigh Preliminaries, but Hanamiya had no plans to go any further. For now, he was satisfied that his first year had gone successfully. He had managed to acquire the right type of people.
Now here they were.
Seto was thankful to know he would be sitting out the whole game. He laid across one of the two benches that your team was to occupy, forcing everyone else onto one bench.
It didn’t really matter since they would be on the court most of the time.
As everyone stretched you approached Hanamiya inquisitively about his decision. The athlete in you seemed to come out suddenly and you were unable to comprehend how or why Hanamiya had decided this was as far as they would go. They had no plans to try and win their next game so they could be disqualified.
“Why not keep going?”
Hanamiya shrugged, he had no interest in the team they were going up against. Although he always wanted more he also was one to value his time overall. If it wasn’t entertaining or of value to him then he would not give it a second thought. He had accomplished his goal for his first year of high school.
“We could easily win them even without our technique.” It was interesting how you suddenly showed an interest. Hanamiya took this as an opportunity to take the next step in engaging you. “Would you prefer we win?”
It was nonsensical to you as a former athlete yourself. When you play tennis you always played to win. No matter who it was you were against the goal was always the same.
“Don’t you want to win?”
Hanamiya didn’t respond, he simply smiled and walked off to speak to the others.
Seto had heard the entire conversation and sighed. He knew now that because of your comment, he would end up on the court.
As soon as the game began Hanamiya and the others went all out. Surprising even Seto who had finally sat up.
Your eyes widened as you noticed everyone was being much more aggressive than usual. You gasped when you saw a couple of players stumble out of nowhere. It took all your will to stop yourself from covering your nose, it was pheromones.
The other team’s coach was finally able to call a foul and a time-out to get his vulnerable players out.
When Hanamiya looked over at you he smirked as if this was his answer to your question.
During sports competitions, it was a well-known rule that all players had to take suppressants to ensure the safety of all genders. You were sure you had seen them all take their dose yet somehow one of them had managed to release some pheromones.
You looked over at Seto, “Didn’t they take their suppressants?” By now you had perfected your lies and were able to pretend like you weren’t phased by the pheromones in the air but honestly this time something felt off. Your throat became dry as if you would choke from simply breathing in the air.
He had purposely made it so you saw everything, including that which he had not shown you before. Letting you in on his secret and watching for the slightest reaction at the revelation brought a sense of joy. Their tactics, signs, and overall game plan- and now even the fact that he used his dominant alpha pheromones to impose on the beta and omega players. He had done this so often to the point of perfection. Everything was meticulously calculated by the mastermind Hanamiya Makoto so he would only give enough to incapacitate those within arm's distance.
As the game progressed you remained silent as you watched them win the game that they had initially given up on.
When they retired to their assigned locker room to change and gather their stuff you walked around the venue until you got to the infirmary. Through the slightly opened door you could smell the omega’s pheromones, the one Hanamiya had affected. It seemed he was now in full-on heat.
To think he could get away with it so easily was strange. Hanamiya had been tested to see if the suppressant was in his system. When the results were positive it was determined there was no foul. Because he had indeed taken his suppresant it was all overlooked. How dominant an alpha was he that he is able to override the suppressant and release pheromones at will?
As a courtesy you closed the door wondering how incompetent everyone can be. This was a serious situation where someone could easily take advantage of the omega that had been left to rest.
You stood guard outside the door for a moment until the other team’s coach appeared with the doctor who had attended to the omega earlier. You offered an explanation before they could question you, “The door was left open, someone could have gotten hurt.”
To their knowledge you were an alpha, so they panicked slightly at their oversight.
Not wanting to engage further you left to meet your team.
The whole bus ride back to the school was spent in silent contemplation. Had you never spoken up it could have been avoided. You knew you couldn’t afford to dwell too much on it.
When you arrived at the school everyone said goodbye and went their separate ways while you and Hanamiya walked back to the club room. There was paperwork and equipment to submit.
“So what did you think?” Hanamiya finally broke the silence.
“You cheated,” was your simple response. You didn’t want to elaborate or get into it with him so you put up your best front as a nonchalant yet honest athlete. An athlete that was frankly disgusted by their lack of sportsmanship. You knew they could play well; they had put the time and effort into their practices- even Seto. “Winning by cheating isn’t winning at all…it’s not fair-“
“Life’s not fair,” Hanamiya shot back. “I am simply taking advantage of the fact that I can manipulate the court. As dominant alphas, we were born to win.”
Life sure wasn’t fair.
Here you were pretending to be an alpha only to encounter a rare dominant alpha. You tried to leave quietly in hopes of avoiding danger, but you managed to utter a single word under your breath, “Pathetic.”
He caught your wrist as you tried to walk away.
You looked back into his eyes, trying your best to seem unphased by his behavior.
“What are you doing?”
“This.”
Hanamiya released his pheromones into the whole of the club room. As soon as it hit your nostrils your hand jerked up to cover your nose and mouth, a dead giveaway of what he had suspected. It took seconds for your body to heat up with a sense of desire to touch and be touched by the alpha before you. You didn’t want to admit it earlier, but his pheromones were strong, much stronger than any you had smelled before. This specific scent seemed way too enticing.
“Hanamiya-” your body went limp unable to withstand the overwhelming presence of a dominant alphas pheromones. Thankfully he caught you before you could hit the floor.
It was faint but Hanamiya managed to make out a sweet scent mingling with his, something sweet and floral. A smirk made its way to his face realizing what was happening. You were going into heat because of him.
Your free hand went to reach for your smartwatch trying to call for help but Hanamiya overpowered you. He held both your hands in his with a strong grip.
Lightheaded, your eyes fluttered shut. This was the first time you had ever been exposed to such strong pheromones for so long without supervision.
“Hot…”
Hanamiya heard you muttering about the heat your body was starting to feel.
You rubbed your thighs together needing some sort of stimulation. Your mind was running wild with thoughts of satisfying the urge you felt to mate, to be bitten, to be with an alpha.
Hanamiya tilted your head up to look at him. Your hooded eyes blankly stared into his in a haze of lust. “My bag-” you uttered with your last shred of decency.
You needed your emergency suppressant.
In that moment you wanted Hanamiya more than anything in the world. Your arms wrapped around his neck and his went to your waist. He stumbled slightly when you pulled him down to meet his lips.
It was a pleasant surprise.
You slipped your tongue past his lips and continued to passionately kiss him until your lungs cried for air. That’s when you came to your senses once again and pulled away to breathe.
Hanamiya grinned seeing you gasp for air.
With newfound clarity, you looked for the bag you had dropped and pulled out a syringe. In a single fluid motion, you removed the cap, picked up your skirt, and inserted the needle into your thigh.
Relief washed over you when the heat began to subside. Your body relaxed enough for you to control your limbs and sit on the cold hard floor.
He watched your chest rise and fall gently now that your breathing had returned to normal. It seemed the suppressant had done its job and blocked out his pheromones.
“I guess this makes us even.”
Indignant of his nonchalant attitude you chose silence. You needed your words to come out as stable as possible. Any sign of weakness would shame you into submission and although you had given in to his pheromones for a moment you were damned if you were going to submit to him.
“For what?”
“Well, I let you know one of my secrets... it’s only fair I knew one of yours.”
What irked you most was the fact that he already knew you weren’t an alpha. You needed answers.
“How did you know?”
“Lucky guess.”
Hanamiya was an extremely intelligent and intuitive person. His initial theory had proven to be correct what he didn’t know was the fact that he would uncover more than he had wanted to.
He had his fair share of omegas and none had ever smelled like you.
Just as you were about to threaten him to remain silent about everything your phone began to ring. On the screen, you saw your mother’s face.
“Hello-“
You could barely get a word in when your mother began going off on a tirade. “Y/N where are you? You were supposed to be home an hour ago! Your brother will be there any minute now, I swear all you do is worry us. Can’t you just stick to the rules and-“
“Yes, Mother I understand” If you didn’t cut her off you were worried, she would say something triggering to your situation right now. You were at least relieved to know you had an excuse to part from Hanamiya. Surely, he wouldn’t insist on keeping you when you had someone coming for you.
When you attempted to get up off the floor you stumbled a bit. “I have to go,” you quickly gathered your stuff and walked out leaving a satisfied Hanamiya behind.
You were certainly much more entertaining than he had originally thought.

A/N: Hello everyone it’s been a while but I finally wrote part two... 3 years later.
KiriDai and Haizaki headcanons please. Their s/o has stopped by their practice, and a random teammate accidently discovers one of her sensitive spots; they poke a random spot on her back to get her attention and she barely holds back a moan within earshot of the boys (i hope that makes sense)
I didn't realize this until I'd already written the post, but I automatically used the term 'girlfriend' since you specify the s/o as being she/her. Hope that's okay!

Hanamiya
conceptually, he knows it's not his girlfriend's fault that his teammate just so happened to touch one of her more sensitive spots, but he can't help but call her out for it too
"Eh? What? I'm not enough for you? You gotta go get your rocks off with someone else now?"
the only way she knows that he's just being mean and teasing is the wicked grin he has on his face as she tells him it's not what it sounds like and she didn't even want his teammate to touch her where he did
Seto
there aren't many things that could rouse him from one of his before-practice naps, but this was certainly one of them
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?"
he knows he's intimidating when he's got that tired look in his eyes and he's well over the height of the person he's staring down, so he uses it to his advantage to scare off the teammate that just so happened to be unfortunate enough to touch his property girlfriend
Furuhashi
in the moment, he doesn't really do anything other than stare down both his girlfriend and his teammate, but he stares so much that his blank expression starts to make both of them uncomfortable
his girlfriend actually ends up being the one to apologize for the noise she made, but he ends up only quirking a brow at her — it's as much of a reaction as anyone gets out of him
"You have nothing to apologize for." he states, still staring his teammate down
Hara
he's actually more annoyed by it than he lets on, but you wouldn't be able to tell by the way he's teasingly grinning as he saunters over to his gf and teammate
"Oh, you found one of her sweet spots, but it's okay, I know where all the other ones are. Like here."
he'll purposely poke another another one of her sensitive spots — maybe if he's feeling cheeky, it'll be in a more intimate area — but something in the way he's grinning tells his teammate that if they touch you again, they'll die
Yamazaki
"Oi! Don't fucking touch her like that!"
he's really quick to shove his teammate out of the way; it doesn't really matter who it is because he should be the only one having her make noises like that
when his teammate finally saunters off, he's a bit red in the face from both his anger and the fact more people have heard what his girlfriend sounds like when she's touched somewhere sensitive; he's a bit upset it's not a secret anymore
Haizaki
his grin turns a bit lecherous when he hears the sound; it doesn't even really matter to him that it was someone else who pulled it from her lips
a younger Haizaki probably would have been irrationally pissed off, but now that he's older, he can tell when something has happened on accident — it makes him feel some kind of sense of power knowing he's the only one she'll make those noises for on purpose
"Oh? That's just one of her tame spots. Come on, guess again. I bet you can't guess which is her favorite."
Am I finally getting to years old requests? Yes. Will these people ever see them? Unlikely.
Possible TW: vague description of breaking fingers, and obviously female being slapped by male.
——————————————————————————
A slow blink. Her eyes were wide, head turned to the side. Her cheek stung and tears pricked her eyes, but she refused to cry. Instead, she stood her ground and turned her head back, head held high and eyes glaring at the male who assulted her. Her fists were clenched, blunt nails digging into her soft palms fiercely.
She didn't even hear the shouting, until she was pulled behind an angry ginger, who had the opposing male by the tie. It took her a few seconds to notice most or her team was here and it made her almost chuckle; of course one of them was watching. They always were.
"Does it hurt?" Furuhashi's voice sounded as emotionless as usual, as he tilted her head slightly so he could assess the damage to her skin. She always found it amusing how gentle they were with her. Almost like she was a porcelain doll, and they were afraid she would break if handled. Really amusing once you saw how they played.
"It stings, but it'll stop soon enough," she put on a brave face, not wanting to break down completely. Especially with that bastard still there. She could hear Yamazaki shouting at the guy, as well as Hara's usually carefree voice, uneasily heavy as he spoke. Matsumoto was trying to disfuse the situation before it got out of hand and they were caught. As for Hanamiya and Seto, well, they weren't here, but she was sure they would be soon enough. And when they arrived, it would all be over for the guy who dared to lay a hand on the Kiridai basketball teams Manager.
Seconds passed, the silence only disrupted by the sound of threats being made. Soon enough, even those two went quiet and it was then that she knew he had arrived. By now, it was only her, her team and the moronic male who had not only tried to ask her out, but had gotten angry when she'd declined and backhanded her.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" Hanamiya's voice held its usual coolness, a slight mocking tone to it as usual. To any who didn't know him, and even some who did, it would be hard to guess just how upset he truly was, but beneath that teasing facade was a monster ready to annihilate its prey, slowly and painfully. "Not only do you think it's okay to ask our manager out, but you also lay a hand on her when she refuses? Are you just outright stupid or do you a death wish?" The male would sneer, rolling his eyes as he stalked up to the opposing male.
Normally she wouldn't watch when they attacked others, after all she wasn't the biggest fan of violence, yet she couldn't keep her eyes off what was about to happen. "There's a lot of people I despise, yet you've just made the top of the list." A low chuckle. "You should know no one touches our manager, no one apart from us." The possessiveness would scare most people, but for their manager, it made her feel safe and secure. Protected.
"What should we do with you?" A rhetorical question, no need for any reply. And luckily none was given, as the next thing heard was a soul-shattering cry of agony, as the males fingers were bent back in one foul swoop and easily broken. The hand he had used to assault their manager was now deformed and causing their victim excuriatinv pain, something no one at the scene felt any sympathy for. Not even the manager herself, who disliked violence.
"Consider that a warning. If you as much as look at her again, I'll make it so that you'll never be able to walk another step in your pathetic existence, do I make myself clear?" Hanamiya didn't wait for an answer, the males pitiful whimpers and snivelling beginning to get on his nerves. "Let's go. We can get an ice pack for your face at practice."
As they walked away from the scene behind them, Kirisaki's manager could only think one thing: how lucky she was to have her boys.
Salute! It's my first time here and I liked it. Can I ask for a scenario about Kirisaki Daichi (+Matsumoto, for every guy)? They've had a fight with their fem s/o and haven't spoken for two or three days. And suddenly they heard a guy (not from the team) talking to his friends about their s/o: "If they break up, then I will not miss my chance."And then this guy spots their s/o at the end of the corridor and heads toward her. Thank you for your creativity)
I’m glad you’re enjoying my writing!
Hanamiya: He supposed he had let this go on long enough. There were slimier guys in this school than himself, and he was well aware. You were standing by your locker, like a gazelle at a watering hole, and it was so fun to slam his hand on the lockers on either side of you, trapping you. When you didn't give much of a reaction, he knew you were still mad. It was probably justified, so he wasn't going to bring it up. No. He just wanted to make up, and he wanted to make a scene of it so that guy knew what was up. "I'm an asshole," he admitted with a soft sigh. "But I need you to kiss me right now so I know that I'm your asshole." Far from a romantic gesture, but you couldn't help but comply.
Hara: In any other situation, he would have let this go on until you were the one to cave. But knowing that there were wolves lurking about, ready to pounce on you at the first chance, he realized he wasn't willing to risk your entire relationship for the sake of pettiness. He was approaching you from behind and already had the pack of gum in his hand, ready to offer you a piece. The bubble he had been blowing popped when he finally reached you. "It's mean of you to make me apologize," he complained softly. "But I don't want to fight anymore, so I'm sorry."
Furuhashi: Enough of this. He didn't bother with any words as he grabbed onto your arm and turned you to face him. Without giving you a second to register whose face you were looking at, he slammed his mouth against yours. He stared directly at the guy for a moment as he felt you melt into the kiss, almost as if he were trying to turn him to stone. But your touch was able to send such waves of euphoria through him, pretty soon his eyes fluttered shut as well and it was just the two of you in the moment.
Yamazaki: Enter panic mode. You hadn't even looked at him since the fight, which was already making him nervous, but now he had to worry about someone trying to weasel their way into his place as your boyfriend? He seemed composed, maybe a bit angry, as he made his way swiftly toward you, although anxiety was bubbling underneath his skin. "Are you still mad at me?" Straight to the point. He didn't have time to waste trying to play petty games with you. "Not so much," was your reply, which earned you a soft sigh of relief as he wrapped his arms around you.
Seto: This was more annoying than anything else. He would have been just fine giving you the space you needed to cool down, but hearing what that guy said actually motivated him for once. He approached you from behind and, when he was close enough, he slipped his icy hand in yours, startling you slightly. He leaned over you, pressing his nose into your hair almost affectionately. "I know we're not breaking up soon, but if I ever see you around that guy, I'll have to beat the shit out of him."
Matsumoto: He had to pass the guy who made the comment on his way towards you, so he took the opportunity to "bump" into him, nearly knocking the guy into the lockers. The noise drew your attention to him, which wasn't planned but also wasn't unwelcome in the slightest. Your arms were folded across your chest, which wasn't a good sign, but he managed to approach you while maintaining his composure. "We're not breaking up," he told you sternly. With a raised brow, you simply responded, "Well duh."
