nozomi and eito are products of the same situation with their own unique privileges and disadvantages btw. nozomi turns out submissive and willing and people-pleasing and self-sacrificial and that is partially because of the misogynistic society she was raised in. she isn’t angry about her situation because she was never given the tools to be.
eito never had to deal with that, but he did have to deal with ableism that meant he could never be a valuable asset. he cannot be a willing soldier because he is a liability. even if he wanted to, he cannot simply fight and be done with it. he is the weakness and therefore, he physically cannot sit in blind complicity.
takumi, on the other hand, is a cishet abled white boy* who has never had to deal with the fact that being that means he has to take responsibility for the privilege he has. he has also been throughly brainwashed and had his entire childhood written in such a way that he specifically has never had to think about it.
therefore, we should stop shipping takumi with either of them, and start shipping them together. in this essay, i wi

Eito Aotsuki x Takumi Sumino x Nozomi Kirifuji 🩶❤️💜
what if you were created as a weapon of sabotage? what if you were left to simmer in your own hatred until it boiled over? and what if you were, at least a little bit, right?
what if you were created as a weapon of war by propaganda? what if you loved so much you failed to see what was in front of you?
what if you were on opposing sides of a war, of a love triangle, of an ideological chasm?
and what if you chose to lay down your weapons, and step away from the battlefield? what would have to happen to bridge that chasm? to go from blind hatred and blind hope...to something more realistic?
break the ice (+ more sketches under cut)
the eito and nozomi parallels continue day in and day out
both have a route in which they sacrifice themself for a futuran child/ren
both have routes in which they are the protagonist and narrator
nozomi and eito are fighting for the same reason at the end of 2nd scenario
they look like karua
the doorbell ringers. genuinely 90% of the time it’s either nozomi or eito
both are anomalies within the SDU (for the exact opposite reasons)
begging people to write platonic nozomi/eito fanfiction….
what if you were hurt by the people who were supposed to protect you and it left a wound that will never heal and you see someone else who went through what you did and they did exactly the opposite of what you did
(you could never have done something like that. hurting her just because of her work? no, no, that wouldn’t have been fair to her. it was just because of her job. she loved you. she loved you, you know she loved you, even though it hurt. even though it hurt. it’s your fault she did what she did. if you had just been better, if you had just been a better subject, she wouldn’t have died.)
(you could never have done something like that. just going along with being hurt over and over for some twisted desire to be loved? it sickens you. you never wanted anything from the monsters that birthed you. of course they got rid of you. they were loathsome humans, just like everyone else. of course they wouldn’t understand you, because no one will ever understand you. no one will ever be there to take care of you. you have to protect yourself, because you have to fulfill your mission.)
nozomi and eito need to have more significant interactions in dlc….genuinely i think they could be friends!! ESPECIALLY if we’re operating off the idea of 2nd scenario nozomi/2nd scenario eito!!! like you’re telling me the two characters who spent their entire lives alone and isolated because of a medical condition and have literally every fucking narrative parallel ever have maybe like. 2 significant interactions
