“Forty years ago this country went down a rabbit hole in Vietnam and millions died. I fear we’re going down a rabbit hole once again – and if people can stop and think and reflect on some of the ideas and issues in this movie, perhaps I’ve done some damn good here!” -Errol Morris

Christopher Samuel "Kit" Bond is an American attorney, politician and former United States Senator from Missouri and a member of the Republican Party. First elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, he defeated Democrat Harriett Woods by a margin of 53%–47%. He was re-elected in 1992, 1998, and 2004. On January 8, 2009, he announced that he would not seek re-election to a fifth term in 2010, and was succeeded by fellow Republican Roy Blunt on January 3, 2011. Following his retirement from the Senate, Bond became a partner at Thompson Coburn. Before beginning his 24-year long career in the U.S. Senate, Bond served two non-consecutive terms as Governor of Missouri, from 1973 to 1977 and from 1981 to 1985. He was previously State Auditor of Missouri from 1971 to 1973.
FOX's Charles Jaco asked former U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Missouri, for his reaction to the failure of the Missouri legislature to pass incentives aimed at cementing a China Hub at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
Also responding to the question was Jason Van Eaton, a former Bond aide who has been involved in that legislative push.
The next video feature former U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Missouri, announcing the formation of Kit Bond Strategies. Bond also announced the he and members of the business development firm will travel to Indonesia sometime next year.
This was a relatively non-event except for that Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright and former Missouri Senator Kit Bond were both on board.
I was at the airport an hour before this happened on Saturday (giving my two weeks notice, as it were) and it was about as shitty of visibility conditions as I've ever seen. However, I don't give much credence to the reports that it was strange the plane didn't slow once they touched down. This occured on Bond's touted $2 billion runway W-1W (better known as runway 11/29), which due to it's remote location, pilots landing to the east usually receive clearance to roll all the way to the end in order to minimize taxi time. In the moderate to heavy snow fall, I see no reason for a pilot to apply any kind of significant braking when he's got 9,000 feet of pavement to roll to the end of. Now, why they swerved and took out a taxi light...that's a good question.
Edit: Disregard all this commentary. Apparently the runway in question was 12L.
Former Sen. Kit Bond gets a classical - almost LOtR-esque - entrance.
