Teri Joyce “Something Blue” RIYL: Robyn Ludwick, Brennen Leigh, Toni Price, Roger Wallace
Above is my favorite track from Teri Joyce’s 2010 album, Kitchen Radio; an entire album of original songs that sound time-warped here from the 60s and given to folks like me who have a love for country music’s golden age. But it’s important to know that Teri has been writing songs (many that have been recorded by others) since way before her album was released.
Teri is easily one of the hardest working, country singing and songwriting women I know. On top of that, she’ll always greet you with a smile and a witty comment. If there’s anyone that has more random, country music trivia/knowledge than me, it’s her. She also puts on various hoot nights around Austin, packing tons of her talented, musician friends into a venue to pay tribute to honky tonk heroes.
this pretty much speaks for itself. but also, this was the first song during my shameful and secret transition to rock n roll that all of my siblings also liked. score one for green day.
