I don't usually post things like this- but this one is an exception. To all my lovely ladies that are dating/married to a chef, I just want to encourage you :D It's certainly hard sometimes to know how to be there for someone who is so busy/stressed a good portion of the time. Depending on where they are at in their career, it can be difficult for a variety of reasons. Schedules are different, hours are long, and when they come they are so so tired and stressed. Luckily, for most in this business, it is in fact their passion. They love what they do! In the end, they would love someone to encourage them and back them up. It unfortunately doesn't mean that they can spend a lot of their time with you, or that they may even have a lot of time at all (especially when they are just starting out, or working their way up) but when they fall for you, they want to know that you are always going to be there for them. Someone to come home to. I am learning so much in the span of time I've been with my boyfriend. Though it hasn't been as long as others, I have encountered quite a few difficulties. We've gone through quite a few ups and downs already- but I know this is what he loves, and besides that- I know he loves me too. So keep the faith! It's definitely not for the faint hearted, but it rewards well in a person who is full of passion and ambition. ❤️ Anyhow! I am certainly excited for this one! Next week is my 8 month Anniversary with Bae, and I’ve begun “cooking up” some ideas for the main event. 💡 Considering that bae is a chef and is always ever so passionate about food, I decided to give my hand a try at cooking a tasty meal for him. He is always busy working long hours at his restaurant, and when he’s home, he hardly ever gets to eat tasty food. Chefs have quite a bit of stereotypes linked to them. Yes, being the girlfriend of a chef can be tremendously rewarding, but it’s also very hard. He doesn’t cook as often outside of his work, but when he does (once in two months or so) it’s always a big treat. When it comes to food, he’s a very “go big or go home” kind of guy. So, this idea I have brewing is my treat to him. ❤️ The first couple of things I am preparing is obviously my course list for the evening :) The meal (in my head anyway) will be three course. The first and last courses will be light, and paired with a wonderful Chardonnay I’m picking up. The main course will be a Puerto Rican recipe. A rice and pigeon pea mixed, paired with a side of authentic beans, prepared with islander spices, and potatoes. :D This is a recipe I grew up eating, as my mother is of Puerto Rican descent and cooks quite a bit. I am excited to incorporate this part of myself into this evening! The appetiser will be a light strawberry Italian salad :D 🍓 Lastly, the dessert will be a sweet rice or a chocolate fondue. I have yet to decide on that. 🍚🍫
We are certainly quite fond of Vielle Ferme as a Chardonnay, so that might be an ideal pairing :)
I’m really excited as well, because I have a cute dress I bought with thick heels, and I’m gonna get super fancied up. I’ve bought candles, faux earrings. Gonna do my nails :D ❤️😍
Usually- I’m not one to care too much for the whole shebang. But for my hardworking chef whom I love, I will do anything 💕😌 He doesn’t know what the food is, or what the preparations are, so this will be a nice surprise for him:) I hope he likes it!! (Yes. I'm terrified. Haha. But I believe he will enjoy it) Cheers! 🍻
