Summer Saturday - artwork by me

Say hello to the latest addition to our hallway “gallery wall” of ultra-kitsch naïve outsider art, usually scavenged from charity shops, vintage flea markets – or often, like this instance, from the street! I kept walking past this beauty leaning against the front of a building en route to the gym. (You should have seen the comedy double take I did when I first spotted her!). It was clear someone had moved out or done a declutter and abandoned her – and what if she got rained on? So finally, I stuck the framed print under my arm and brought it home! Does she ring any bells with anyone? Does anyone recall seeing this print in the late sixties or early seventies? The vibe she gives me is Harlequin romance novel or the final scene of The Stepford Wives, when the women are pushing grocery carts in their long dresses and floppy sun hats.
