thinking abt will returning to the apollo cabin after the battle of manhattan </3

oh man will must have been so sad about it. 

not only has he lost two siblings to the war, but now he has to deal with taking care of a bunch of children when he himself is still a child. he has to become a leader when he is barely able to walk without breaking down. i can’t even imagine the way that the entire experience must have been for him to suddenly have a huge shift in his power. he took control of the cabin before he was even ready.

fic prompt: solangelo just being domestic and cuddly please i am begging

Mmmm love me some fluff <333 thank you for the prompt, and i hope you like this!! i usually do little to do no editing on these fic prompts, so please don’t be too harsh when reading. 

The chill over camp has left almost all the demigods to reside in their cabins for the evening, finding that they would much rather stay inside and be bored rather than subject themselves to frostbite. 

Typically the camp borders don’t let too much bad weather in, but maybe the gods were in a bad mood, because just as everybody was being called to the campfire before bed, a torrid of rains slammed to the ground.

In his cabin, Nico throws some wood into the fireplace and switches on the LED lights above his bed. They were a gift from Hazel the last time she visited, and while they didn’t quite match his aesthetic, he couldn’t help but to smile at their soft glow. They remind him of soft smiles and intimate nights. 

Nico sighs as he balances at the edge of his bed. He and Will had been so busy today, what with Will having to take care of his siblings and Nico having to go on an errand for his father during the day. Even in the past week they’d been too busy to see each other too much; they were hoping that meeting at the campfire may let them relax a little. But apparently the Fates had other ideas.

Now he sits in the loneliness, glancing around his cabin. The sweatshirt over his body does nothing to block out the chill of loneliness lingering on his skin. He longs for the warmth of Will’s arms around him, the whisper of his blond hair against his neck as he leans into Nico.

He’s usually not so desperate for anyone, but after the past week or so, he only wants to relax with his boyfriend. He’s not sure when their lives got so busy, but he sure as hell doesn’t like it. Gone are the days where they go canoeing every other day; gone are the days where they share secret smiles at dinner. Will’s been preparing for college, and for some reason Hades has been breathing over Nico’s neck. He’s not a fan of this new distance.

It’s not like their relationship is tearing into pieces or anything; it’s just that Nico feels as though they’re not savoring their time as much as they should be. He thought that tonight at the campfire he could just lie in his arms, but apparently even the Fates did not want him to get some kind of break.

Nico plops down on his bed, letting his legs dangle over the edge. The glow of the LED lights pulse in his room, offering an almost lulling hue to the scenery. He closes his eyes in the hopes that maybe he’ll fall asleep and maybe find a way to Will’s dreams if he can. 

Just before his consciousness slips away into his dreamscape, however, a knock cracks against his door. Nico jumps up, blinking rapidly at the burst of sound. Groaning and rubbing his eyes, he calls, “Who is it?”

“It’s me,” a familiar voice responds. 

Nico’s eyes widen, throwing off any exhaustion that he just previously had. He rushes to the door as a blanket of anxiety encompasses him. What is he doing here? Isn’t it pouring?

Nico throws open the door and crosses his arms. “Are you aware about how much of a dumbass you are?”

Will only grins, his teeth flashing brightly in the looming darkness of the night. He’s wearing a gray sweatshirt over blue cloud-print pajama pants, both of which are speckled with watermarks. Will’s feet patter against the floor of Nico’s cabin, leaving small puddles of water over the ground. Frowning, Nico closes the door and offers Will a raised eyebrow. “Would you like a towel, Your Highness?” 

“I don’t know. Would you like to cuddle me while I’m soaked through?”

Nico rolls his eyes and reaches over to the towel on his loveseat. Throwing it at Will, he says, “I think you’re really dumb for risking it through the rain and the harpies, just so you know.” 

Patting himself dry, Will says, “Don’t lie, you think it’s endearing.” 

When Will throws the towel back onto the loveseat, Nico smiles. “Maybe I do.” 

Will throws his arms around Nico’s shoulders and lays his chin over his head. His chest pushes against Nico’s face, and despite the chilling water over his clothing, his body still only emanates warmth. Nico basks in his safe arms. “I missed you,” he whispers. 

A cloud of darkness squeezes the two together, implementing a dread in their hearts. “I’ve been missing you,” Will counters. “I’m so tired, Nico.” 

“Me too.” Nico sighs. “When did our lives get so busy?”

Will hums in defeat. The two stand there, holding each other in the darkness, soaking up the warmth from their bodies. 

After a moment, Nico looks up, catching the blue of Will’s eyes to his own. Hesitation lingers between them, anticipation humming in the molecules of the air. Then Nico leans in, and their lips greet each other halfway. Nico’s control and fears and anger melt away; he’s left only in this room with Will, only in this moment. Nothing else exists but them. 

His fingers pull through Will’s gold curls and he feels himself getting lost into the blond, slips into his mouth and travels down his bloodstream. He’s missing from his own body, going on a journey into Will’s physical being instead. He’s tired of himself; he wants to explore Will, discover new treasures, go sight-seeing into each and every crevice of his body. 

When they pull apart, Nico’s pulled out of his trance. He blinks to get his surroundings again and a cold rush travels down his spine. He leans his forehead to Will’s.

“Let’s do something,” Will whispers. “I want to hang out with you again. Let’s get lost into each other. I’ve been missing from you. Let’s find each other again.”

Nico smiles and touches Will’s face. His fingers travel over the freckles on his nose, over the scars on his face, over the soft pink lips that he so longs to touch again.

“I don’t mind finding each other again.”

hmmm maybe smth abt nico facing a monster and having ptsd flashbacks and will stepping in for him and killing the monster before nico even had time to clear his head and raise his sword? idk i have something like that with what i'm writing rn and i really like it

The dracaena hisses at the two, humor sparkling in her eyes. She’s enjoying this, Nico thinks, irritation boiling in his blood. 

A wind blows past, the chill sinking its fangs into Nico’s hands. Darkness looms across the forest, closing in on the camp. Nico’s heart thrums in his chest. His blood buzzes under his skin, humming with an energy that he doesn’t understand. The strong hands of fear grip his neck in a deathly hold.

“Oh, would you look at that,” the monster says, her voice sickly sweet. “Two demigods! My Cyclopssss friend will love thisssss!” 

Beside Nico, Will reaches for his gun, brandishing it in front of the woman. The moonlight glints against the metal, threatening the dracaena, but she merely smiles. A laugh tumbles out of her, the sound of it sharp and painful like shattered glass. “Oh, what are you going to do? Shoot me? Don’t you know mortal weapons don’t work on monsssssters?”

Will doesn’t answer, but he peers over at Nico, who still doesn’t have his sword brandished. He shoots the child of Hades a look, asking a silent question: Why aren’t you prepared?

Nico finds that he doesn’t have an answer. There’s a terror clouding over him, bursting through his system. He feels as if he’s glued to the grass, unable to move or speak or think.

He’s slipping away again, slipping back into darkness he’s been hoping to forget about. 

No, he scolds himself. You cannot leave Will here to fight the monster himself. Stay here. Stay here. And for a moment, his scolding works; his mind clears, and he’s still aware of the scene before him.

He’s about to reach into the darkness, pull out his sword from the shadows, but he knows he’s too late when the wind shifts. A scream erupts from somewhere, not from Nico; it’s probably Will crying his name. For a moment, Nico forgets where he is; he feels dissociated while peering at the scene before him, as if he is merely watching from afar. 

The dracaena lunges at Nico, fangs sharp and shiny under the pale moonlight. And that’s the moment Nico loses himself. Darkness consumes him, just for a microsecond, and then the scene shifts, back to memories he’d rather forget.

Fire and darkness battle behind him, a dim glow erupting from the lava river to his left. Monsters surround him, growling and jeering at Nico. His limbs, his body, his face, his mind... they all ache, falling under the pressure of everything that’s happened to him. Cuts sting his face; gashes throb on his arms. His ankle bursts with pain each time he steps back in the hopes of escaping the circle of evil. A sob builds up in his chest, crashing over his throat like waves in the ocean during a storm.

He wants to lie down, to drown out the noises of terror. He wants to close his eyes and sleep, to forget about everything. He’d rather embrace the cold hands of death than face these monsters.

He’s hopeless, hopeless, hopeless... 

And then, out of nowhere, a loud BANG! erupts to his left, exploding in his ears. The scene shifts again, back to the present. Darkness ripples through the sky. This is not the gruesome, suffocating darkness of Tartarus, but rather the more comforting one, the kind of comfort and love. Stars twinkle, glimmering against the looming darkness. 

Heat no longer envelops Nico, only a chill that soothes his nerves. He’s barely aware of the fact that the dracaena is now sprawled on the ground, disintegrating into millions of grains of sand. A wind carries the monster’s sandy remains from the premises. 

For a moment, even Nico wishes he could disintegrate, blow away from existence. 

Static. Nico’s mind is static for a moment as he gazes around, his brain spinning on an axis, trying to understand what just happened. Only confusions clouds over him, a sense of unease. Wasn’t he just in Tartarus? Where is he now?

The world tilts violently, throwing Nico off his balance. He sways on his feet, barely able to hang on to it. Then he drops to the ground, knees pressing against the wet grass. He holds his head in his hands, though that does nothing to help the unbearable pain. Nico’s vision swirls, and he isn’t quite able to make sense of the shapes in front of him. 

A voice calls out to him, but he can just barely hear it. He feels as though he’s drowning, water pouring into his ears. He groans but does not move.

The voice calls to him again, and this time it comes across even clearer. A subtle warmth flows through Nico’s system; he knows that voice. It doesn’t help his pain at all, but a sense of security comes over him, holding him in place. 

A warm hand balances itself against his back, pressing lightly. The voice speaks again, the sound of it reminding Nico of liquid gold and sunny days. “Are you okay?”

It takes a moment for Nico to understand that it’s someone he knows... It’s Will. The world stops spinning, and he looks up, vision becoming clearer. 

Gazing at Will, the child of Hades is quiet for a second. What is he supposed to say? That he’s fine? That he didn’t just think of Tartarus again?

He sighs and decides it is better to say nothing, but that’s all that needs to be done; Will understands that he only wants to be left alone.

He helps Nico to his feet, and the two stumble their way back to camp.

would you ever write an au for any of your ships? which aus would you not do?

i would, actually!

i’ve been thinking of an Immortal Teenagers AU for solangelo but since i’m still working on “His Orbit,” i haven’t had the time to plan that out yet. and before i got started on tumblr, i actually wrote a mortal au for solangelo on Wattpad (it didn’t get that much traction and i had no idea where i was going with it so i stopped it)

i don’t know if there’s an au i wouldn’t really do, but it might be something like historical because fanfic is meant to be like free for me and i feel like historical aus would just require a lot of research that i won’t be capable of doing.
