“Hells bells, all these fucking rules,” He lets out a short sigh as he tosses the book onto the nearby desk, it sliding across briefly from the force of said throw. He was still demonic here, as was Shunsuke, so had to mind his strength at least in public. In private, Kazama didn’t care--
Right right, names. He had to get those down elsewise he might fuck up in a major way. He didn’t want to make things any harder on Shunsuke than they had to be.
His name was ‘Nicholas’ here, according to public records. So far as he knew though, he was still half-Japanese which made most people look down on him even more harshly. To say nothing of the fact that he wanted to go by Kazama regardless. ‘Nicholas’ was such a fucking stuffy sounding name it made his skin want to crawl.
Apparently that other Inuyasha was here too -- Sora, or something another. Kazama didn’t quite know, he hadn’t met Sora yet in his timeline but he knew of him. Vague hazy memories of a life he had yet to live, if he would at all now. He went by Oliver here, Oli for short. An annoying, clingy-ass younger brother, to be sure....
He eyed the cane in his hand, idly fiddling with the scabbard as he pulled out that hidden katana-like sword only to sheathe and un-sheath it over and over, enjoying the clicking sound it made when closed and re-opened. It kept his hands busy, anyway... His gaze narrowed, contemplatively staring out a nearby window towards that warm, warm spring weather--
Was he doomed here, too? Everywhere he went, chaos and suffering seemed to follow him. From what little glimpse he had seen of Shippo-- Shunsuke-- ‘Seamus’, it seemed that he’d suffered his fair share, no doubt. Perhaps even more than any other version of himself, but why? What exactly had happened, may happen, Kazama might’ve very well changed everything by stubbornly injecting himself into this timeline where he shouldn’t belong....
For all he knew, he might’ve been changing everything that could’ve happened by choosing to be here and figure out Shunsuke’s mystery and to be here for him, as opposed to... what? Destroy stuff in other timelines? Wreak havock just because? There was this odd, calm, that he felt around Shunsuke, like looking into the face of a supremely old friend that one could just, not worry around.
Click, clack, click, clack; his hands were still fiddling with that sword-cane, leg jostling a tad as he sat there, trying to make heads or tails of this. He had never chosen to stay somewhere before solely because of one person, especially someone he by all accounts didn’t know even if his soul spoke elsewise.
“...The things I do, at points don’t even make sense to me,” it’s chuckled lowly, with a final decisive and loud CLICK that cane’s stopped moving, and Kazama lays it against the side of the desk. Half-heartedly he slides that book back over to himself and continues reading; boring notions of etiquette for some stuffy high class parties and meetings and the like. He needed to learn the customs of this time-period before he made an absolute fool of himself, nor raised the suspicions of his ‘younger brother’.
You had better be worth all this fuss, Shunsuke.
